18 Best Resident Evil Games Ranked

Now that Resident Evil Village has been released, we here at G FUEL wanted to update our “Best Resident Evil Games Ranked” list. So much like Resident Evil 2 and RE3 Nemesis, this article is getting a remake!

Maybe no gaming series has done more for the horror games genre than the Resident Evil series. Since the release of the first Resident Evil in 1996, Capcom started the survival horror game craze and has constantly reshaped and reinvented the horror gaming genre.

From claustrophobic mansions to the sprawling Raccoon City to the bayous of Louisiana – we went through it all!

Resident Evil Village’s Lady Dimitrescu is the franchise’s newest nightmare, but how does she rank against the scariest monsters and bosses in Resident Evil history?

15. Ustanak – Resident Evil 6

Resident Evil’s much maligned sixth entry has a lot of problems, we’ll admit, but one area where it does succeed is in its litany of boss fights. While the game features four interconnected campaigns with plenty of unique enemies, Ustanak breaks away from the crowded roster of other monsters thanks to his relentless pursuing of Jake Muller and appearance (however brief) in almost all of the featured storylines. As far as bioweapons go, he’s also one of the most mean-looking, boasting a tank-like physique and threatening mechanical claw.

You’ll fight Ustanak multiple times as part of Jake’s Resident Evil 6 campaign, first within a wintery Eastern European town as he clambers from chopper to chopper to get to you, then as part of a team-up with Leon in a shipment yard, before eventually finishing him off in a fist fight as boiling lava bubbles below you. Very much following the Nemesis template of growing persistently stronger, Ustanak is easily one of the redeeming elements of Resident Evil 6’s overt bloat.

Due to Resident Evils & ‘difficulty settings, It is difficult to rank which games are easiest and hardest to play through, but we have taken this into consideration to determine a general ranking for the games. We have rated these games from five to one, one being the most difficult.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

We start with Resident Evil 7 (also known as Biohazard) as it is the most recent game to be released in the franchise.

This game was very well received and applauded for its return to Resident Evil’s horror roots. This installment was unique in that it showed a first-person perspective, which added a new level of immersion yet to be experienced in the franchise.

the puzzles in this game were a good challenge but yet enjoyable. The atmosphere that the game provided was such that the player had to approach with caution, stealth, and strategy and not just run and gun like in other Resident Evil games.

Resident Evil 5

Let & ‘s talk about the elephant in the room, shall we? Resident Evil 5 is regarded by fans as a failure to the franchise as the horror element was missing. The game is considered one of the two worst games in the franchise with Resident Evil 6 being widely regarded as the worst. This game went from a one player mode to a 2-player game which was a disaster because of the game’s bad AI Some aspects of the game’s control scheme were viewed negatively by many critics. Some players complained about the game & ‘s inconsistencies, such as the fact that you can only take cover from enemy fire in rather specific places. Other controls that are missing are the inability to stutter stepping away from (or quickly leap back from) enemies, as well as the slow targeting. These are just some of the aspects that make the game difficult to play.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis

This game was a very popular installment in the franchise and like the first two, the story follows Jill Valentine through Raccoon City. It is the third installment in the Resident Evil series, and it takes place almost concurrently with Resident Evil 2.

The difficulty of the game comes from the big ol mutated Nemesis that follows you around as he is an incredibly difficult foe to defeat (check our previous article on how to defeat him). The game requires Jill evading Nemesis a lot of the time rather than fighting him.

The toughest difficulty setting in the remake of this game may put even the most experienced players at a loss, as it truly becomes one of the most difficult games.

Resident Evil Zero

When you ask fans which of the Resident Evil games is the most difficult its is always a toss-up between Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil: Code Veronica.

explores an abandoned training center for employees of the pharmaceutical company Umbrella with officer Rebecca Chambers and convicted criminal Billy Coen.

The majority of fans would agree that the game & ‘s difficulty stems from the Zombie leeches that latch onto the characters. The inventory system, which would leave characters with little or no items for the majority of the game, was another factor that contributed to the game & ‘s difficulty.

1

Resident Evil: Code Veronica

This is the game that most players would find to be the most challenging in the series, despite not being one of the most beloved.

Released in 2000 the story takes place three months after the events of Resident Evil 2 and the concurrent destruction of Raccoon City as seen in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. It follows Claire Redfield and her brother Chris Redfield as they attempt to survive a viral epidemic on a remote prison island in the Southern Ocean and at an Antarctic research facility.

The game was designed to be challenging, especially for players who have no idea what they & ‘re doing. They & ‘ll get trapped in strange corners, surrounded by difficult-to-defeat enemies that will drain their health and ammunition.

The inventory system was also notoriously terrible, which didn & ‘t improve the game &’ s playability at all.

Ranked: The 5 Most Difficult Resident Evil Games

These are, in our view, the most challenging Resident Evil games, owing to poor game mechanics that have made them some of the least popular in the Resident Evil series.

WCX Assault Rifle

The WCX has a high fire rate and ammo capacity when maxed out, making it easier to clear hordes of monsters without reloading. It also has higher power than the Dragoon. Farm CP and Lei to get the WCX and infinite ammo for it to progress more smoothly through the Village of Shadows difficulty.

S.T.A.K.E. Magnum

The STAKE is one of the easiest to get and one of the strongest weapons in New Game Plus. Using it with infinite ammo in the Village of Shadows Difficulty is highly recommended. It deals absurdly high damage to enemies even when not hitting their weak spots. Its high ammo capacity is enough to clear waves of monsters without reloading as often as other magnums as well.
STAKE Weapon Stats and Upgrades

GM 79 Grenade Launcher

The GM 79 with infinite ammo is also one of the best weapons to use for Village of Shadows. It provides blast damage that can hit multiple targets and can stagger larger monsters. The GM 79’s Flashbang rounds are particularly useful for stunning enemies, even bosses. Infinite ammo for the GM 79 will be available in the Extra Content Shop immediately after you finish the story on your first playthrough.

Dragoon Assault Rifle

Dragoon is a useful weapon to start your New Game + on Village of Shadows difficulty. It has high power that can quickly take out regular mobs. The drawback of using this weapon is that it only has 30 ammo capacity, and it can only reach a short-range.
Dragoon Weapon Stats and Upgrades

M1851 Wolfsbane Magnum

You should get the M1851 Wolfsbane’s infinite ammo if you don’t have enough Lei or CP for the STAKE weapon yet. It deals fair damage to normal mobs, and it can also one-shot Lycans.

the 5 toughest Resident Evil 4 enemies and how to kill them 5

We couldn & ‘t finish the ranking without referring to the jewel in the crown of Resident Evil 4, to that enemy of the game that has gone down in history and that is one of the most remembered and loved by fans of the saga: Iron Maiden , the Iron Lady. The improved version of the Regenerators. From the outset, it must be said that the Regenerators & ‘cover letter is insane.

The first encounter with one of the Regenerators happens in the scientific facilities, having passed half the game. Upon reaching a room, we observe that there is an experimental subject in a bed, whose spinal column has been torn off. Leaving us one of the most chilling pictures of the game. Then we heard a noise, music change and that horrible breathing of the Regenerator. But the worst is yet to come.

New Resident Evil 4 Remake Tracks Arrive Thanks To Teppen

Mikami knew how to create some very twisted combat, especially for newcomers to the game. Because Regenerators are immortal and the only way to kill them is by finding the heat sight of the sniper rifle. See that, of course, we meet after meeting the Regenerator for the first time. So basically, in this first encounter, the only thing we can do is run away and try to find the sight as soon as possible. When we have done with it, the fight is much easier, because it will be enough to hit the weak points. But be careful, because the Regenerators keep closing in on us and they can kill us before we know it.

The Iron Lady, Iron Maiden, it is the terrifying version of these enemies, because it is a Regenerator covered with spikes. Spikes that it can throw at us to nail us, attract us to it and kill us instantly. Luckily and surprisingly, the fight against the Iron Lady is one of the most balanced and most enjoyable in the entire game. Again, the best thing to do is to escoder Ashley in a container, to attack them as calmly as possible, and to play with the automatic doors to lock them in and attack them from a distance.
