12 Fun Games to Play on FaceTime with Friends in 2022
You found our list of fun games to play on FaceTime.
FaceTime games are fun activities for the iOS FaceTime app. For example: truth or dare, trivia and a masked dancer. These games can be played on Apple devices such as iPhone, iPad, iMac, and Macbook. The purpose of these games is to have fun and connect with friends, family or co-workers. These activities are also known as “FT games”.
These games are a subcategory of video chat games and are similar to the games you can play Zoom.
This list includes:
- games to play on FaceTime
- fun things to do on FaceTime with your best friend
- games to play with friends on the phone
List of FaceTime games
Here is a list of the best games that you can play FaceTime with friends and family. All of the challenges below are fun and easy for all ages.
1. Trivia
Trivia is a group game perfect for a social networking platform like FaceTime. You can play head-to-head, but the game is more fun with more participants. To play, schedule a FaceTime conversation with as many curiosities as you can find. Then select one interlocutor for emcee and ask him to read the questions. The first player or team to correctly answer the questions in each round scores one point. Or, teams can iMessage reply to emcee and each correct team scores one point. The leader keeps the score, and the team with the most points at the end of the game wins.
Here are a few questions to get you started with your game:
For more tips check out our guide to virtual trivia games.
2. FaceTime Truth or Dare
People usually use FaceTime on iPhones, iPads, or personal Mac computers. Your game companions have other apps on these devices for a juicy Truth or Dare game.
First call the person or group, then take turns taking turns to challenge yourself to answer questions or complete challenges. We encourage you to include applications such as iMessage, Notes, and Contacts in your game. If the truth or dare needs proof, ask the player to submit a screenshot.
Here’s a tool to generate random hints of truth or courage:
3. Masked Dancer
Masked Dancer is a game where you guess the identity of the dancer behind the digital mask. To hide the costumes and silhouette, players may wear sweatshirts and gloves. Then use the Effects feature in FaceTime and select anamoji. After disguising, the players dance to the music. The other players must determine the identity of the dancer based on the movements and choice of music. When all participants have guessed, the dancer reveals herself and the other player takes her turn.
Masked Dancer is an option only if players have a FaceTime version that supports effects. The game works best when there are many participants in the same room as this makes it difficult to guess.
4. This or That
This or That is one of the best FaceTime games for kids. During the game, players take turns asking each other to choose one of two options. Usually no one writes down points and participants just play for fun.
Examples of hints include:
- Cats or dogs?
- Summer or winter?
- In the morning or at night?
- breakfast or lunch?
- TV or movies?
- Ice Cream or Cake?
- Taco or pizza?
- Chocolate or vanilla?
- Ninja or pirates?
For more tips, see our full “This or That.
5. Newlywed Game
The Newlyweds game is an example of FaceTime games for couples in long-distance relationships. Guys and girls using Virtual Dating will also enjoy the game.
To play, couples answer questions about their relationship by uploading photos to a shared album or typing answers in iMessage. The player with the fastest correct answer or the most sentimental one wins.
In our first round, we had to climb to the top of the glass tower to avoid flash flooding. Then, during another round on the same map, we climbed to the top again, only to find that the earthquake had forced us to move away from all the tall buildings. Break up our avatar’s decay into many, many pieces.
#1 warmax.io
Wormax.io is a multiplayer game of “eat or get eaten”. Heavily inspired by Slither.io, Wormax.io enhances its predecessor in several important ways. Accelerate, Stop, and Ghost are three unlockable skills that make gameplay much more dynamic and competitive. At any point in the game, players can slide over multiple boosters for extra health, vision, and magnetic abilities. Wormax.io also has excellent replay value thanks to its unique Artifact currency and league system.
Funky Truck turns off-road driving into an arcade sport. This single player racing game offers cute cartoon graphics and amazing physics. Players can jump, flip and even fly in their monster trucks. With the limited time on the clock, driving at high speed is a must. Funky Truck’s creatively designed levels are filled with towering hills, spooky valleys and tons of ramps. All you need to win is courage, glory and passion for emotions.
#3. Slither.io
Following in Agar.io’s successful footsteps, Slither.io is essentially a 21st Century multiplayer Snake. Players start out as little snakes and must eat food (i.e small spots on the map) to grow. Larger snakes catch smaller snakes more easily and make them disappear. When the enemy is trapped, it becomes food for others. The simplicity of Slither.io makes it a great choice for a fast and fun multiplayer game when you’re bored. In addition, a wide selection of skins in neon colors provides eye-catching, pleasant graphics.
Max is a female pilot with a cardboard rocket fuel box. If Sky Chasers looks familiar, it’s because it draws from a classic lunar lander. Players must control a pair of engines to glide through magical worlds. The ingenious levels in Sky Chasers hark back to the era of retro platformers, with bombastic traps, winding tunnels and formidable enemies. By earning coins in each world, players can unlock over two dozen new spaceships, all of which have very distinctive designs.
Ghost Simulator is a fun RPG where you travel through various places like forests, farms, deserts and cities using your vacuum cleaner to catch ghosts.
Among Us
Among us, he was undoubtedly the crowd favorite during last year’s Blockade season, but if you haven’t tried it yet, we tell you now that you should definitely give it a try with your friends! Although it was released 3 years ago, the pandemic saw immense popularity Among Us as the perfect crime game that is actually NOT played face to face. Talk about encouraging social distancing, huh?
The game is completely free on mobile and you can play it with up to 10 friends in the same game! At the start of each game, you’ll be randomly selected to play as an innocent crewmate or a murderous cheater with your primary goal of either staying alive or killing all crew members. This is a fun game where you will surely question your closest friends. Get ready for a backstab!
Skribbl
Unleash Picasso in you! If you’ve been spending all this time at home honing your artistic skills, it’s time to put them to good use in your Skribbl game. Or, if your drawing skills are terrible, be prepared for your friends to suffer. This free drawing and guessing multiplayer game reminds us of the good old days when we played Pictionary or Draw Something with our friends.
Skribbl is a browser game that consists of several rounds where you take turns drawing while the rest guess what horrible works of art are each other’s. It’s really easy to use – just create a private room and share the link with up to 7 other friends. Collect as many points as possible as believe me it’s quite satisfying when your little avatar is finally crowned a winner.
It’s a classic board game, but online. Collect resources, trade, build and destroy friendships from the comfort of your home. It may take a while to get used to the interface, but it’s a lot of fun once you’ve mastered it. You can choose a classic or a random board. Other options are paid features.
WANDERERS.IO
Wanderers.io is a multiplayer strategy game in which you lead a tribe of tiny people through a hostile sandbox. You don’t give direct orders to your creatures – instead, they interact with objects in sight if they have the right tools – for example, an ax will let a minion cut trees and a bow will let him hunt animals. You try to stay alive in a hostile environment for as long as you can.
You can play this game with your friends on a private server, so start your adventure together!
Shopify CEO Harley Finkelstein joined us at Spaces Cadets on Friday. To end the interview, we asked him for advice for potential entrepreneurs:
Meet The Players
This essay was inspired by Elon Musk’s performance in SNL. Nobody plays this game better than Musk. The best way to explain his escape from the body is if he is playing a video game with cheat codes.
Doing things people didn’t think were physically possible – see Tesla, SpaceX, Starlink – while running away from things people didn’t consider legal – see pumping Dogecoin, $ 420 private tweet, getting high on Joe Roganie.

He plays a postmodern game with modern rivals. He’s like Neo. He does not try to bend the spoons by force; understands there is no spoon. He has more cash points than everyone but two people in the world to show for it.
Musk plays an advanced version of the Game where he builds rockets, electric cars and internet satellites, but you don’t have to bend atoms or become the richest person in the solar system to win. You don’t even have to come out as a real person.
A few weeks ago, Austin Rief and I had a bored Elon Musk on our weekly Twitter show, Spaces Cadets. Bored Elon is an account under a pseudonym. He tweets ideas for inventions that Elon might have had if he was bored, and 1.7 million people follow him on Twitter. He started selling NFT a few months ago. In less than a month, he pulled in 400 million. Or maybe an example not Elon?
Let’s take Alex Danco. Alex literally built a world for himself: Dancoland. In an excellent post about his journey, Alex drew an actual map of his journey through the Great Online Game.
He started writing about startups, went into bubbles and mania, made his way through Bagno Scen and made his way to the Humanities Mountain Range. While he was writing, he was able to meet new people, test new ideas, and build a reputation. It helped him find another thing. “This newsletter was obviously part of the fishing trip to find what I wanted to do next.” Next was my dream job at Shopify, thanks in part to the newsletter.
However, instead of claiming MISSION COMPLETED, he continues to play the Big Online Game, expanding his world by branching out into new communities. In particular, he will have a recurring episode in Jim O’Shaughnessy’s Infinite Loops podcast and will become a more active participant in Anna Gat’s magical Interintellect. This will undoubtedly lead to new possibilities and new worlds to be discovered.
Or take Megan Leeds.
This is Megan Leeds, better known as MeganPlays. In 2018, Megan was earning $ 400 a month posting videos about her game on YouTube. Today it makes millions of dollars a year, has 3.6 million subscribers, and has launched a game studio that will generate $ 8 million this year. 👇👇👇
56 retweets and 555 likes
Leeds turned YouTube about itself by literally playing video games – The Sims – for Roblox content to create over 1 million YouTube games, an 8mm game studio, and a 400mm online store. Her quote in Rex Woodbury’s thread beautifully captures the Great Game Online:
I didn’t do anything that no one else could do. It’s about learning – learning the code, learning how the game works, and creating. All you have to do is get started.
How Crypto Supercharges the Game
The people at crypto seem to understand better than anyone that this is all a game. The right meme can send a random coin to the moon and make people legally rich.
But other than that, crypto is in-game money for the internet. It rewards participation directly. First-time users, supporters, builders, stakes, validators, and community members get tokens.
Until now, I have not fully understood social tokens. It seemed to be another way influencers could get paid for with no real value. But in the context of The Great Online Game, these are points that reward good online gameplay and give followers an incentive to join the team and support them anywhere. It’s like Super Follow for the entire internet, with financial rewards.
Crypto also allows players to exchange value directly. I recently experimented with selling an essay as NFT, which Clint Kisker bought for 2.19 ETH. It is a direct connection between two players in the game. Even though I spent a lot of time thinking about the NFT and even playing with them, it didn’t surprise me until I saw these slides from Patrick Rivera of the Mirror:
The Great Online Game imitates video games. If people want to buy skins on Fortnite to express themselves, or clothes on meatspace to do the same, of course they would like to buy NFT to express themselves online. In the open world of the Internet, the more you signal who you are and what you care about, the more you open up to new possibilities. It’s a hearty game. NFT is online art, cars, costumes and houses. These are digital traps of digital wealth.
DAOs will also be an important infrastructure for the Great Online Game. They make it easier for people to get in and out of projects at internet speed instead of climbing the ladder in the company, and they also allow for light and temporary grouping when people want to pool their superpowers. PartyDAO was recently formed to bring together a group of smaller players to compete with wealthy whales at NFT auctions.
I suspect that many of the most successful web3 projects built in the coming years will be used to create Great Online Game tools that were previously only available in walled gardens of specific virtual or corporate worlds. I am excited and / or an investor in Crucible, Mirror, Seed Club and Opolis, just to name a few.
The great online game will become even more attractive. We are in the early rounds. So how should you play?
This or That is one of the best FaceTime games for kids. During the game, players take turns asking each other to choose one of two options. Usually no one writes down points and participants just play for fun.
Scuba Diving at Quill Lake
If our moms had seen us play this little gem when we were younger, they might be begging for a little less so we can find a real job. Quill Lake scuba diving is all that Doom 2016 wasn’t: relaxing, healthy and chilled out.
Getting to this picturesque lake is like a half-decent vacation as you scour the area for treasure. However, you won’t be able to access everything right away: dingy caves require a flashlight, and deeper, more open water requires additional training and better equipment.
Gathering underwater cash and collectibles to sell and upgrade your avatar allows you to explore further and further. And since it’s a Roblox game, the MMO aspect of the platform puts a team ready to share tips and support with each other. We said it was healthy.
Theme Park Tycoon 2
Many Roblox games are “Tycoon” simulators or management games, but Theme Park Tycoon 2 is one of the best. After a short, simple tutorial, you will receive your generous piece of land with which you can create your own Disneyland Trial.
The user interface is simplistic and has a good selection of options, but not too much to be overwhelming. As foreseeable, the goal is to create an amusement park that will please the participants as their numbers grow and hence their budget.
Attention to detail: You need to make sure you have enough garbage cans and other amenities to keep guests happy and the park is immaculate. If you are evading the sanitation, be prepared to have a lot of rubbish on the floor. After all, it’s not just fun, it’s about being an amusement park designer by roller coasters.
The leaderboards common to all Roblox games encourage light competition to keep you moving. With money and visitor numbers constantly haunting your corner of the screen, you will have to chase after the amusement park of your dreams. You may not be able to create the wacky parks found in games like Planet Coaster, but Theme Park Tycoon is a Roblox game that’s worth your time.
Never have I ever is one of the most popular FaceTime party games. To play, participants hold ten fingers. Players take turns to precede statements with the word “Never…”. Each player who has performed the named act must lower one finger. The last player with fingers up wins.
Top 15 Roblox games to play when bored
15. Brookhaven RP
Brookhaven RP is a Town & City game less than a week away to commemorate its first anniversary on the Roblox platform as at the time of writing. The game’s tremendous success in such a short time shows what made Roblox so famous in 2020.
Brookhaven is a relaxing Second Life-style RPG that emphasizes luxurious living and the freedom to leave your home whenever you want. What’s not to like?
The introduction to the game emphasizes the need to meet like-minded people, and the servers are limited to a community of 18. You can build a private Brookhaven RP server for 100 Robux (around £ 1.15) to handle this.
14. Tower of Hell
Although Tower of Hell is classified as an adventure game, fans of Roblox would consider it a hobby game (short for obstacle course).
Obbies are well known among Roblox players: while there are some fantastic obbies on the site, they have also gained a reputation for being the simplest Roblox game that produces poor quality.
Tower of Hell is undoubtedly one of the best. Imagine always reaching the Fall Guys finale and the crazy dash that follows. Up to 20 players race to the top of the title tower in this game with randomly generated stages and no checkpoints to keep things simple.
Private servers are 250 Robux (around £ 2.87) and give the host more control over the settings. The adrenaline rush you feel as you jump through the different levels makes this game one of the games you should play on Roblox when you are bored.
13. Anime Fighting Simulator
As you can imagine, Anime Fighting Simulator is a fighting game based on the bizarre warfare seen in various anime.
Since it’s a Roblox game, it’s obviously less visual than some famous fighting games, but if you like the genre it’s a surprisingly comprehensive experience.
New merchandise, equipment, and other features are added regularly, and the game even has seasons (currently in season 4).
To complete the experience, you have a variety of game modes to choose from, such as the recently introduced Tournament Mode and the traditional add-on: Story Mode that few people have tried.
12. Work at a Pizza Place
Working at Pizza Place is one of the best Roblox games on the list. Working at Pizza Place is a role-playing game in which, as the name suggests, players run a pizzeria. You can work as a cashier, pizza cook, delivery man, pizza boxer or supplier depending on your preferences.
Each of these roles has extensive in-game instructions. In addition, you can change your position in the Pizzeria at any time. Overall, Working at a Pizza Shop is a fun Roblox game with lots to discover. This is definitely one of the games that can be played on Roblox when you are bored.
