Black Ops 4 is also open as an open beta for PC this weekend, for those using a PC rather than a console.

Black Ops 4 offers fans a plethora of new weapons and game modes as Call of Duty seeks to fend off domination from the popular Battle Royale shooter, Fortnite.

The Open Beta will feature 16 weapons and many new game modes, although the full game will feature a huge amount of new content to get stuck in.

You pre-ordered Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on Gamesplanet and received a beta code, but don’t know what to do with it? Help is at your fingertips! We’ve put together a handy guide to walk you through the steps to access the upcoming beta, starting September 19.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Beta Problems

Choose your system and sign up for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta before it

Choose your system and sign up for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta before it’s available, so you’ll avoid most problems.

Occasionally issues with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta are encountered when signing up and redeeming codes. The two biggest problems are missing beta codes and cheats that don’t work.

If you’re missing the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta code, you’ll need to contact the retailer from whom you purchased it. Your local dealer may not be able to help. For best results, please contact support via email or social media. You can also check the reseller forums if they support them.

In case you cannot enter the code, it is illegible or the code does not work, contact the seller. Activision is not currently addressing code issues.

If you’ve already pre-ordered Black Ops 4, a code should be in your email. It may take up to 72 hours to receive the code by email. Therefore, it is a good idea to go through the registration process before starting the beta.

Buy If You Love The Look of Mutliplayer

We know a lot about Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 multiplayer from Treyarch, Vonderhaar and the last month of the game. It’s a very established game, but it’s much faster than Call of Duty: WWII. Riding downhill is a very nice addition and something that I personally missed during last year’s Call of Duty game.

Treyarch continues tweaking weapons in multiplayer and new weapons keep coming, but overall you now have a very good idea of how the game is playing and how it will work in the long run.

The specialists are back with loads of new abilities and now you need to heal your character in-game instead of doing it automatically. The Pick 10 system is back and so are the extras, bringing you the classic Black Ops style of play. Everything feels as fast and smooth as you’d expect from a Black Ops game.

Without story mode, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s multiplayer is a bigger component, and if that’s what you like about the game, it’s a good reason to buy now and start your progress towards prestige.

If you’re missing the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta code, you’ll need to contact the retailer from whom you purchased it. Your local dealer may not be able to help. For best results, please contact support via email or social media. You can also check the reseller forums if they support them.

Black Ops 4 Blackout Beta: How to Join

The easiest way to join the Black Ops 4 Blackout Beta is to pre-order the game digitally from the appropriate digital store on your platform. For Xbox One and PS4, it’s pretty obvious, but for PC, it’s a bit different: you’ll need to pre-order through Blizzard’s Battle.net service. You can also pre-order from some retailers, although Amazon will likely offer the best (and cheapest) bet. Even then, it will only give you a slot in the Early Access Beta. The open beta will start a few days later.

Once you’ve done this, or you’re eligible for the beta (if you’ve purchased it through the official console or the PC store), you’ll receive a 13-digit beta code if you pre-order elsewhere.

Next, you’ll need to download the beta client, which will run at the times listed below.

Black Ops 4 Blackout Beta: Where’s my Code?

If you don’t have the code, you should do one of two things: check your receipt and / or check your email. The Beta Code should be in place, if not, Activision Support recommends contacting the retailer you pre-ordered Black Ops 4 from.

Things are less simple here. Black Ops 4 Blackout Beta launch time varies depending on the platform being used. Below is a list of start and end times for your convenience:

  • PlayStation 4: September 10, 10:00 a.m. PDT (1:00 p.m. EST 6:00 p.m. BST to September 17, 10:00 a.m. PDT (1:00 p.m. EST) 6:00 p.m. BST
  • Xbox One: September 14, 10:00 a.m. PDT (1:00 p.m. EST / 7:00 p.m. BST to 10:00 a.m. PDT / 1:00 p.m. EST / 1:00 p.m. BST
  • PC (Early Access Beta): September 14, 10:00 AM Pacific / 1:00 PM EST (6:00 PM BST) to September 15, 10:00 AM Pacific (1:00 PM EST (1:00 PM EST) Polish BST
  • PC (Open Beta): September 15 10AM Pacific Time, 1:00 PM EST, 6:00 PM BST until September 17

After all, this is Call of Duty’s first attempt at Battle Royale, so all eyes are naturally on teams to deliver something that Call of Duty fans and those who can’t stop playing Battle Royale modes in other games will do pleasure.

What kind of content is in the Black Ops 4 Blackout beta?

Being a Battle Royale mode, the beta Black Ops 4 Blackout will only have one map. However, it is the largest Call of Duty map ever, full of locations modeled after fan favorite maps from Treyarch history such as Nuketown, Turbine, etc.

Treyarch has promised that you will be able to play several characters in the beta. These are of course just cosmetic models, but you can look like a Mason or one of the many Zombie heroes. Beta Blackout also has its own characters available only in Blackout mode.

Plus, you can expect tons of weapons and tools to loot and use. Blackout has four vehicles, including a helicopter. They can all be used for transport or reconnaissance, but the truck allows you to store the loot in the back for later use.

Blackout supports 88 players in beta, but this number is subject to change at launch. You can play solo, with a friend in a duet, or with three other friends on quad bikes.

You’ll be able to carry two primary weapons and hunt various healing items. All players respawn with a knife in case you can’t get to the gun quickly enough.

The latest update means you can now collect items faster, and the quick load menu that you open by clicking on Dpad now automatically disappears when you haven’t used it for five seconds.

The sensor dart has also been changed. Some players used its unlimited availability as a way to constantly scan a specific area for enemies. The sensor arrow will now stop detecting enemies after two minutes.

Skills will return in Blackout, but can only be used for a limited time. Some are modified versions of existing multiplayer perks, while others are new to the game.

Zombies can spawn in Blackout, but only at certain locations. There is a chance that they will drop rare items when killed, and some come straight from the Zombie Mode, like monkey grenades.

Headshots for Koshka and Paladin will no longer be 200HP disposable players, players will be relieved to hear that.

Tier 3 armor, one of the most controversial items in the game, no longer ignores blast damage. Regarding armor balance, Treyarch said he is testing a few other armor balance changes, some of which may come out tomorrow.

One of the changes that may occur is that level 3 armor may in the future transfer some of the damage received to the player’s health, rather than absorbing most of it. Level 3 armor’s spawn rate is also changing, but this means that tier 2 armor will need to be adjusted to compensate for this change.

The strange ladder climbing glitch can be fixed in time for PC and Xbox players to join the beta. Going down seems to be a huge problem as many players fall and take damage unnecessarily.

Lastly, zombies have their attack range weakened and there will be a fix for that soon.

Experimental Modes

Experimental modes will make a big difference in the beta, with the first being a special Fast Collapse event. This playlist was made available to all players yesterday, and the main difference is that the circle enters “almost twice” faster than in the regular mode.
