UPDATE TWO: Activision has confirmed the official delay when all the big Call of Duty patches will be released this week. The new Black Ops Cold War season 5 update time has been postponed to 5 AM BST on August 12.
This will be followed by the full release date for Season 5, which has been pushed back in Cold War and Call of Duty Warzone to 5am BST on Friday, August 13.
UPDATE: Today, the new Call of Duty Cold War Season 5 update will be launched on Wednesday, August 11 5AM BST. Full COD Patch Notes are expected to be released soon, detailing the various background changes being made.
It should be noted that while the Black Ops Season 5 patch will be available for download today, the actual event will not start until 5am BST on August 12th.
ORIGINAL: Activision has a busy schedule this week, and two of its most popular games will receive a lot of development on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War will be the first COD title to be updated this week with the Season 5 release date.
But while this will be the first game to be updated – with Warzone 24 hours later – it doesn’t mean it will get Early Access.
Instead, Call of Duty Warzone and Black Ops Cold War have a unified release date for Season 5.
But to make sure the servers are not subjected to heavy load, the developers Treyarch and Raven Software decide to run their Call of Duty updates at 24-hour intervals.
Thanks to this, there will be no crazy rush to access the new content of the fifth season of the Cold War while updating two huge games at the same time.
And there are many reasons to expect players to return to both titles at the start of Season 5.
As mentioned above, Cold War will receive five new multiplayer maps, some of which will sound very familiar to Black Ops fans.
Echelon will be a 6v6 game available on the release of Season 5 and should take some time to learn.
Others may give COD fans a few extra tips on where to go as they explore different locations, with Slums, Zoo, and Drive-In drawn from the first two Black Ops games.
The official description of each map adds:
Slums – Take to the streets and fight on this tight, three-lane vintage map that complements the three multiplayer maps available on the release of Season 5.

The Slums, first introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops II, are set deep in Panama, where a city square with a central fountain encourages long-range combat in the avenues and multiple Scorestreak air bombings.
Drive-In – Soon after the fifth season’s premiere, prepare your popcorn for the return of Drive-In, the iconic classic from the original Black Ops set in a drive-in movie set in a deserted, ghost town in the Midwestern United States.
Remastered for the first time for the 10th anniversary of the Black Ops Annihilation Map Pack, Drive-In offers close combat and powerful vantage points, especially around the large Galactic Drive-In screen where snipers and other long-range weapons can glow.
Zoo – Rounding out the trio of classic season 5 maps with another theater of battle after launch: the intense incarnation of Zoo 6v6 from the original Black Ops, coming later in the season.
In the Zoo, the original version of which was part of the second Black Ops Escalation DLC, there is no cage to stay in as you battle your way through bears and aquariums. Be sure to “ride” the monorail for an awesome vantage point for the action below, or head to the gift shop to inflict tons of free pain on your enemies.
CALL OF DUTY COLD WAR SEASON 5 UPDATE TIME
Activision publisher has confirmed that the Call of Duty Cold War patch season 5 update time is scheduled for 5 AM BST on August 11.
However, while the patch will be available for download on August 10, COD fans will have to wait another 24 hours to access the new content.
This means that the official release date for Season 5 of the Cold War and Warzone is set for 5am BST on Thursday, August 12.
A message from Activision adds: “Don’t get into the game with your thoughts in mind – Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season Five will be online on August 12, after the Black Ops Cold War update on August 10 at 9 p.m. ET and Warzone on August 11 at 2 p.m. ET.” 21:00 Polish time.”
