Call of Duty Vanguard: Release date, Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies, Warzone map & anti-cheat, more. What is the most current call of duty game

He also explained that in both single and multiplayer, players would feel a “dumb, instinctive” approach to combat, stating that the shooting must be “amazing”.

The best Call of Duty games, ranked from worst to best

Few of the video game franchises are as influential and successful as Call of Duty. What started as a polished WWII shooter has turned into something completely different over the past 15 years, and games have hit everywhere, from the Vietnam War to the farthest reaches of space.

Regardless of location or story, Call of Duty games typically deliver heart-pumping single-player campaigns and intense, competitive multiplayer. Even when the entry of 2018, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, changed it and abandoned the campaign, it brought another exciting experience thanks to the new Battle Royale mode, called Blackout. But not all Call of Duty games are created equal. Some were just better than others, and with that in mind, we ranked them from worst to best.

In this list, we’ll stick to the main entries from the Call of Duty series. This means the exclusion of spinoff titles as well as simplified games released for previous generation systems such as World at War – Final Fronts. In 19 qualifying games, we made them fight for which one is the best.

The Xbox 360 saw a surge in sales in 2005 with Call of Duty 2, which remains popular to this day. Unfortunately, Call of Duty 3 didn’t fare as well as its predecessor. Treyarch released him after a very short development as they took control of the franchise. The game did not impress, and the less engaging multiplayer mode stuck between the Call of Duty 2 approach and the Call of Duty 4 formula. Campaign Mode tried to change the situation by incorporating the Canadian section and melee mechanics. Still, it lacked the refinement and character to move it forward. Call of Duty 3 is a rare Call of Duty game that is better avoided.

Reportedly codenamed Project Cortez internally, the game will feature a single-player campaign set to take place during the American-led war on drugs in South America.

Call of Duty: Vanguard Campaign setting and details

The Vanguard campaign will take players back to the Second World War era, where they will focus on the development of Special Forces on all four fronts of World War II.

This campaign will not be a sequel to 2017’s Call of Duty: WWII and will allow players to see World War II through the eyes of four different special forces characters in the Pacific, Western, Eastern and North African fronts.

Call of Duty: Vanguard Campaign

Arthur Kingsley, LT. Polina Petrova, Captain Wade Jackson, and Second Lieutenant Lucas Riggs are the main heroes of the campaign, and they are all based on real heroes who fought during World War II.

These four figures are sent as a special forces group to Berlin, Germany, to identify Project Phoenix, a project believed to be a plan by which the Nazis planned to extend their rule beyond Hitler.

Call of Duty: Vanguard Multiplayer

One of the most exciting information about multiplayer has been revealed in the game is that the game will launch with 20 maps.

16 of these maps will be for traditional 6v6 multiplayer, and the other four will be designed for the new Call of Duty: Vanguard Champion Hill game mode, which has been described as a combination of Battle Royale and Shootout.

One of the new multiplayer features will be Combat Pacing gameplay options. Players will be able to choose between three multiplayer pace options, each offering their own unique experiences.

The three Call of Duty: Vanguard Combat Pacing are Tactical, Standard, and Blitz. Standard is the traditional gameplay from previous Call of Duty multiplayer games, while the tactical pace option feels more hardcore.

Blitz has been described as a much more casual experience with lots of action and as many players as possible crammed onto the map for pure “chaos and fun.”

The popular gunsmith feature from Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War will return in Call of Duty: Vanguard. However, it will come with two new features that include custom ballistics and ammo types. This evolved gunsmith will allow players to have a total of 10 attachments on their weapons.

Another exciting part of Vanguard Multiplayer will be that it will feature destructible environments that will open up new gameplay opportunities for players.

Call of Duty: Zombie Vanguard

The storyline of the Vanguard Zombies game mode will be a prequel to the Dark Aether story set in Black Ops Cold War.

This news also signifies that Sledgehammer Games has focused entirely on the Call of Duty: Vanguard campaign and multiplayer.

Reportedly codenamed Project Cortez internally, the game will feature a single-player campaign set to take place during the American-led war on drugs in South America.

9. Call of Duty: Vanguard

Call of Duty: Vanguard

Call of Duty: Vanguard

The latest entry in the Call of Duty franchise, Call of Duty: Vanguard, took players back to the era in which the series built its foundation: WWII. While Vanguard has not reached the same heights as some of the other modern entries in the series, it has provided a welcome respite for the “modern” and futuristic entries we’ve seen in recent years. Vanguard was a comprehensive Call of Duty pack, with moments of true splendor in all three core gameplay modes: Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies.

Like most Call of Duty games today, the campaign was a short but action-packed battle tour told from multiple perspectives. Vanguard’s missions, while not the strongest from a story perspective, were varied and consistently fun. Still evolving, the multiplayer offers an impressive mix of maps and game variants, making it a fun experience from launch and will likely remain popular until the next Call of Duty release. Zombie Mode has removed some of the clever aspects of the puzzle from the formula, but it’s an enjoyable co-op experience nonetheless. Overall, Vanguard is a solid entry in the Call of Duty franchise, even if it feels slightly secure.

8. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

2018’s call of Duty: Black Ops 4 from developer Treyarch marked a huge change to the Call of Duty franchise, as it was the first in the series to not have a campaign mode. Still, the future-proof military shooter impressed fans and is one of the best games in the series to date. Despite the lack of a campaign, we found that the three main game modes – Zombie, Multiplayer, and Blackout – offer meaningful ways to have fun. The multiplayer was as good as ever, introducing new weapons and mechanics to take advantage of the game’s futuristic environments (but not forcing you to use them) while Zombies offered a deep, unforgettable experience full of secrets to discover as you destroy hordes of the undead.

But perhaps the biggest and most exciting innovation in Black Ops 4 was the Battle Royale mode, Blackout. The precursor Warzone, which was supposed to appear two years later, was Activision’s first step towards the battle royale genre he wanted after the success of Fortnite and PUBG. Both critics and fans enjoyed Blackout, even if it wasn’t perfect, and Activision took the lessons from Blackout and applied them to Warzone with great success.

Call of Duty: Vanguard campaign

At the Gamescom Opening Night Live, we received an extended gameplay demo that showed how effective the single-player campaign was. You can check out this video embedded above.

The film shows the exploits of Polina Petrova, an expert sniper of the 138th Rifle Division, which is based on a real World War II fighter Ludmila Pawliczenko. In the demo shown at the event, he undertakes a stealthy mission through the recently Nazi-occupied Stalingrad. The gameplay seems to suggest that this time around, more emphasis will be placed on stealth and tactical gameplay than just shooting.

Call of Duty: Vanguard cheating

During the beta weekends of the latest Call of Duty games, reports began surfacing that cheats were already a huge problem in Call of Duty: Vanguard. The most obvious explanation for this was last weekend’s beta cross play, where many players admitted that they had trouble hacking the game by fewer than charity players right from the start.

This shouldn’t be a problem in the main game, though, and should only be isolated in the beta. Activision and Sledgehammer Games set out to tackle the cheat issue in a more permanent and hardcore way ahead of Vanguard’s launch. Drastic measures have been introduced – such as blocking players who have already been banned from Call of Duty: Warzone from Call of Duty: Vanguard – and a new anti-cheat system will be introduced to help stem the tide of cheating in the future.

Vanguard and Warzone will also make their debut with a new anti-cheat system developed by Raven – though we don’t know much about it at the time of writing. The PC anti-cheat will launch with the new Warzone map and will be available throughout Call of Duty. Expect to hear more about it “in the weeks ahead of the launch of Vanguard,” according to Activision.

Last month, the official Call of Duty Twitter account also warned that “banwaves are in progress” and that they “just blocked 100,000 cheats” in Call of Duty: Warzone – expect these numbers to increase as the launch cycle of the new game begins.

Moreover, we’ve even seen signs that the game after 2023 COD will be a return to the Black Ops franchise, suggesting a familiar title rotation is taking off.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 gameplay

Of course, there will be a lot of continuity from the last Modern Warfare when it comes to the gameplay of the next Infinity Ward game, but that still leaves room for some improvements and additions.

We still expect him to have a short kill time, which makes him quite hardcore in shooters, but we’ll be curious to see if it incorporates some of the technical advances made by Vanguard in the meantime.

For example, the WWII shooter offers much more damage on maps and environments, as well as an extended weapon mount system that allows you to move more while receiving bonuses for gun control.

We think the latter is likely to remain, but we’re not sure about the environmental design considering how much cleaner and less cluttered Modern Warfare’s maps are compared to other Call of Duty titles.

Elsewhere, an extensive Tom Henderson report says the campaign will feature a more advanced enemy AI that will be more responsive to your shots and compression wounds you inflict while they’re hiding behind cover. It sounds a bit grim written, but moving will likely make you more engaging during combat.

He also said that the game will feature a lot of remastered maps from the original Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer component, meaning we can return to legendary locations like Dust and the Terminal.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Warzone integration

After Black Ops Cold War’s sloppy integration with Warzone, with a recycled map and unbalanced weapons, Activision realizes it needs to hold the landing better when it comes to new COD titles that mingle with the free-to-play sensation.

Vanguard has brought with him a brand new map, Caldera, taking the fight to the Pacific arena and finally bringing a new location to the table, and from the sounds of this Modern Warfare 2 will try to make this annual change.

According to sources, VGC will also debut a new map, combining multiple multiplayer maps to create a large, coherent map in a similar way to the way Verdansk was made. This is great news for anyone who finds an 18-month stay on the first Warzone map a bit boring.
