Destiny 2 New Light: The Ultimate Guide to Playing Free. Destiny 2 new light where to start

You won’t get much in terms of weapons or armor for completing these campaigns (each has only a handful of guaranteed Exotic items. (Exotics are powerful weapons and armor with unique characteristics) expect from Destiny 2 .

Destiny 2 Beginner’s guide: 2022 Edition

Destiny 2 is a great game. It has some of the best shooter games of all (it’s from the makers of Halo, after all) and has hundreds of things to do.

The problem is new players are easily overwhelmed and developer Bungie does little to help them learn the rules. This causes many to give up too quickly. A new tutorial was recently introduced to better explain the game to beginners, but that’s still not enough.

But don’t be afraid. After reading this guide (which is as short as possible), you will have a good understanding of how the game works and how to best enjoy it.

List updated on Bungie’s 30th Anniversary (S15).

Essential tools every player needs

Destiny 2 may be a great game, but it desperately needs a few basic features. Namely a better inventory manager and group finder in the game.

You can still play and enjoy Destiny 2 out of the box, but these third-party tools will greatly enhance your experience (plus, they’re all free and from reliable sources):

Destiny Item Manager (DIM)

This is my inventory manager and equipment optimizer.

With DIM, you can easily move items between characters and your vault, create equipment, view active missions, and much more. This is also free!

Destiny 2 Companion App

Somehow, Destiny 2 doesn’t have a Fireteam Finder in-game.

Luckily, this companion app has a good LFG (group search) system as well as an inventory manager and allows you to collect rewards on the go!

Destiny Tracker Network

This huge database contains all the weapons and armor items that exist in Destiny 2, but otherwise is the best PVP stat tracking tool available.

If you are serious about PVP, you need this.

Other great tools worthy of your time:

: Probably the largest D2 database, I use it all the time to check stats and weapon rolls. : a web application that covers it all. My favorite parts: keeping track of quests and triumphs.

Elden Ring, a much-anticipated title from legendary RPG developer FromSoftware, is about a month ahead of its release. It was revealed during the Taipei Game Show 2022 that the Elden Ring officially went gold and the team is currently working on a Day One patch.

What Is Destiny New Light?

Destiny 2: New Light is not a trial version of the game. This is the full, free edition of Destiny 2, which includes all the locations and features found in the original paid version of the game before the release of the latest expansions, Destiny 2: Forsaken and Destiny 2: Shadowkeep.

The new light allows everyone to enjoy Destiny 2 while offering the option to purchase expansions and other downloadable content (DLC) individually. New players start at a higher tier so they can jump right in, but there are only a few areas available at the start. You’ll need to earn XP to unlock all locations, which can be done by completing various in-game actions.

Destiny 2: New DLC Light Store

On Which Platforms Is Destiny 2 New Light Available for Free?

You can play Destiny 2: New Light on your PC, PS4, or Xbox One. Go to Steam or your game console’s store to download it. It won’t be listed as New Light, so look for the Free Destiny 2 release.

Destiny 2 offers cross-save support, which means you can save your game and continue playing on a different platform. You can also play with others using any version on any platform. All that is required is an internet connection; however, if you’re playing the PS4 version, you’ll need to pay for a PS Plus subscription to access the multiplayer features.

But don’t be afraid. After reading this guide (which is as short as possible), you will have a good understanding of how the game works and how to best enjoy it.

Varying Ammunition

Not all weapons in Destiny 2 use the same ammo, and not all ammo types are created equal. Basic / white ammo is the most abundant in the game, but is also used by less damaging weapons, while special / green ammo is less likely to drop but is usually used by more powerful weapons such as shotguns and sniper rifles.

This means that to avoid wasting ammo, it’s a good idea to carry one of the weapons with you at all times, using your Primary Weapon for lower-tier threats, and only drawing your Special Weapon when a few more hits are required.

Learn to Experiment

To say that Destiny 2 has a lot of weapons and class options would be an understatement as players will be inundated with a sea of choice from the very first missions. In the face of such abundance, it is tempting to jump on the first weapon that feels good and hold on to it like a life raft, only replacing it with a version of the same higher tier. Doing this in Destiny 2 is a real mistake, as the sheer amount of differences in fire pattern, rate of fire, dispersion, recoil, optics, and weapon perks means that even players who have found a hundred shotguns and do not like a Single may change their opinion with the next drops.

Destiny 2 is now available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and a Stadia version is also in development.

Developer Elden Ring claims that the game was built to provide players with greater comfort and less stress, while maintaining the expected standard.

John has been writing about video games for almost a decade and has been playing them for almost three. His greatest passion is great strategies and addictive RPGs, but he has dabbled in almost every genre.

All the gear you can find everywhere will help you increase your power level to 1260 (soft hat). After that, you will have to perform certain actions that reward powerful gear to reach level 1310, and then Pinnacle Gear to reach level 1320.

Where should I start?

It’s easy to get overwhelmed at first, whether you’re a completely green player or a returning player. Entering Destiny 2 for the first time, New Light begins an introductory mission at the Cosmodrome. This is part of the game tutorial that shows the basic ropes like super abilities, basic combat, weapon types, and different NPC roles. When you are there, you will be directed to the first NPC to hand out the so-called Bounty. These are specific tasks that contain instructions on what players will need to do in order to complete them. They’re great for gaining XP per level as well as gaining peaks and mighty, which we’ll cover in more detail in the gear section.

When you run for your first ship, it can get a little confusing as the new player won’t be too familiar with how Destiny works yet, which can be a tad overwhelming. Pay attention to what those NPCs who have the marker above say, grab your rewards, and then pay attention to your quest log to keep track of which action items you want to perform first. It will get more and more complicated as you progress, but the beginning of your journey will focus on catching up with everything you can do in the game. After completing the New Light campaign, you will go to the Tower, where there will be quest markers for key characters:

  • Shaxx – Crucible, PvP
  • Banshees – rewards for weapons, consumables, items to buy with Glimmer (in-game material used as currency), legendary shards, etc
  • The Vagabond – Gambit Awards
  • Zavala – the vanguard of the titans for assault orders, strikes in the playlist can be found in the Objectives tab in the menu next to Gambit and Crucible
  • Ikora Rey – The wizard’s vanguard
  • ADA-1 – Transmogrification armor synthesizer, offers unique rewards for materials needed to make cosmetic changes

There will be a Tower expansion pack called HELM at last, but you don’t need to worry about it until you reach Beyond Light content and continue with the Season of the Chosen and all thereafter.

Unlocking worlds will be crucial in the beginning, and this can be a pain as it depends on your power level. With each expansion, new areas will also unlock, opening up new content such as strikes and seasonal activities. Which brings us to our next point: what is a power level?

What is a Power Level?

Power levels are your character’s current level, the average of the equipment levels you have for both armor and weapons. Power levels are the key to knowing what content to contend with and what to hold back. If you delve into an activity that recommends a power level of 1300 to 1240, you will be overwhelmed, and that could ruin your Destiny experience.

You will also deal with the so-called artifact, which was introduced in Year 2. Artifacts will be crucial as you level up, offering you a basic level power boost (before the artifact) while unlocking powerful mods for your run. The fastest way to level up LP is to launch three characters from each class and complete all of your Peak and Mighty bounties (marked with a gold symbol on the Destination and Map cards. Hover over the marked symbol to see what you need to do in depending on activity). Pinnacles and Powerfuls will increase your Power Level if you haven’t reached this season’s cap yet by completing, dropping weapons and gear on a higher LP.

There are three different limits to be aware of in Season of the Lost:

  • Basic equipment level – 1100 power level
  • Legendary Gear Cap – Power Level 1270
  • A powerful attachment for equipment – power level 1320
  • Pinnacle Gear Cap – Power level 1330

Thanks to the Artifact, your level can exceed 1330 by completing more difficult content. This includes things like Raids, Grandmaster Nightfall (a certain type of Nightfall on the hardest difficulty), Masterwork and Legendary Lost Sectors (don’t worry about it, when you’re just starting out, you’ll receive a reward that shows you where and why they are good cases to solve).

At the end of each season, a new artifact is introduced, which means you’ll see your LP reset to a lower level.

Destiny 2 used to have the worst tutorial for new players. It was very short and barely scratched the surface. It left players lost and overwhelmed, and many gave up.

Always take a special weapon

Destiny 2: Forsaken - Two Guardians using the PlayStation 4 exclusive Wavesplitter Exotic Tracking Rifle

Bungie, High Moon Studios / Activision

There are three levels of ammo in Destiny 2: Primary / White Ammo (single white ammo next to the icon), Special Weapon / Green Ammo (two green ammo next to the icon), and Heavy / Purple ammo (three purple ammo near their icon).

Special weapons and primary weapons can end up in the first two slots, depending on whether it’s energy or kinetics (meaning no energy element). This allows you to carry two primary weapons or two special weapons if you wish. You can make some interesting builds from both, but everyone has their own problems.

If you choose double basic you will always have ammo, but you won’t be able to deal that much damage. Special weapons offer high additional damage at the expense of ammunition. So if you have two special weapons you will always be low on ammo, but you do a lot of damage.

Take one of each in most scenarios – one basic and one special. That way, you’ll always have a special weapon to deal with bosses and large enemies, and a primary weapon when you run out of ammo.

Think twice before deleting your items

In Destiny 2, you don’t need to use your most powerful weapons to drop better gear. Until you remove it, the game will always drop loot based on your highest possible power level – including items in your vault.

Your power level is how the game measures your strength. Your power level increases depending on how powerful your hardware is. If you’re looking to tackle tougher Destiny 2 content, you’ll need a higher Power level.

When you start out, don’t delete any items you’ve received, unless they’re white, green, or blue. Even then, make sure they aren’t better than the one you are currently using.

Sometimes getting some weapons in Destiny 2 can be a real pain, and you don’t want to delete something that you may have to spend hours retrieving. Before you know what you want to keep and what can be safely disposed of, put the items in your vault instead of disposing of them.

You can get to the vault from the Tower, near Banshee-44 – the gunsmith. The vault contains 500 inventory slots and all you need to do is open the vault, open your inventory, and start storing or withdrawing items.

If you find something you really like and are afraid to delete it, you can lock the weapon by pressing the Shift key on the PC or pressing the analog stick with the controller. At this point, you cannot remove a locked weapon until you unlock it.

The Red War campaign started with Destiny 2 and tells a decent story. It’s also quite long, so you should learn a lot about Destiny 2 by the end.

What content is available for New Light?

All. All content available in the first year of Destiny 2, plus all strikes, most raids, and other ending content from all of Destiny 2. So even if you don’t have a story left – or a season to pass on a Year 2 story – you’ll be able to play the Year 2 ending content such as the Crucible and Gambit modes from Forsaken.

This is huge. This means that with just New Light, you can play almost all of the multiplayer content Destiny 2 has to offer with your friends and still get some of that sweet story. Now, if you have friends who are already playing Destiny 2, you won’t need to play 120 hours of content and spend $ 160 just to be able to play Gambit with them. Instead, you’ll have to pay a hefty price for nothing.

Wait, did you say nothing?

That’s right, New Light is available for free to everyone on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. There is no news yet on whether Google Stadia’s streaming service will receive New Light, but as Bungie insists on cross-compatibility – not cross-play, but at least cross-save – we’ll likely see New Light there as well.

With New Light, Bungie seems to be taking clues from games like Apex Legends, Dauntless, and of course Fortnite. By offering the base game for free and then charging a lower fee for seasonal content, Bungie gives everyone the best chance to play all the amazing content Destiny 2 has to offer.

Xûr: Where to find the merchant of exotic objects in the

When we talk about Xûr, we are talking about Exotic, which is the rarest hardware. Every week, from Friday 7:00 p.m to Tuesday 7:00 p.m., Xûr appears on a random planet and sells Exotic armor for the class and Exotic weapons. Add to this an isochronous engram, a random exotic weapon, or an armor piece you don’t already own.

There are also two other items, Five of Swords for managing modifiers in an activity called Night Falls and Invitations of the Nine. The first is an object dedicated to already quite experienced Guardians, while the second leads to the narrative sections of inmates long after the game starts, so these are not objects for players who have just started and we will see them in separate guides.
