Few things represent our personalities in Destiny 2, such as the ghost shell we choose to put on our interstellar navigator .. plus whatever colors we choose.

Spend enough time with the Spirit you like, and you won’t want to leave their side.

But choosing a coating for your floating companion is about more than just aesthetics. The features must be taken into account, and of course, how difficult it is to get each of them.

You can love a shell, but grind it for a few days and the love will be gone.

To help any fighting ranger looking for the most stylish and practical shell they can use to cover up their disembodied guiding voice, I’ve come up with the final ranking list. Take a look and see what grabs your attention, I’m sure there will be something here that you just can’t miss.

20. Generalist Shell

Shell General Destiny 2 Ghost Shell

Received: All characters created after the New Light update receive this shell during the tutorial missions; it is the one who is endowed with your Spirit by default.

While it’s not the most unique or powerful of Spirit’s Bullets, it’s hard to deny the modest charm of your first shell.

It is compact, practical, what else do you need?

Unfortunately, it is a terrible shell in terms of characteristics. And by that I mean there isn’t.

Couldn’t they at least give him a Speed Demon or something?

19. Peerless Precision Shell

Unmatched precision coating Destiny 2 Ghost Shells

Obtained: This exotic shell was dropped from Steadfast Engrams in season 4.

If your goal is never to miss a shot, there’s nothing more representative than this target-looking Ghost Shell shell.

As its description says, it is a shell “for the Spirits who never lose sight of their purpose”.

To help you on your quest to become an unparalleled precision shooter, this missile has some useful features as well as a random mod.

Omni-Telemetry allows you to create weapon telemetry with all kinds of weapons, and Speed Demon makes your Sparrow respawn faster and reloads your weapon while driving.

18. Lunar Shell

Lunar Shell Destiny 2 Ghost Shells

Received: Keep an eye on Eververse and purchase it as soon as you see it on sale. It was worth it!

One of the most interesting shells available to Guardians is the Lunar Shell, an exotic that looks more like a witch’s crystal ball or Piece of Eden than a shell

But that fits perfectly into Destiny’s techno-mystic universe.

Lunar Shell has one of the most valuable features you can get in Ghost Shell, Guiding Light, which gives you a priceless 10% XP bonus that you will love while grinding your seasonal rewards.

It also provides a Speed Demon bonus and another random mod.

17. Eyeball Shell

Eyeball Shell Destiny 2 Ghost Shell

Obtained: This missile can drop from any Bright Engrams you get your hands on.

Not to be confused with the much more eyeball-looking Fortitude Shell eyeball (also quite a solid Ghost Shell), this item has a spherical appearance, reminiscent of what an Aperture Science Portal can create.

Unlike other shells with preset bonuses, the eyeball shell provides two random bonuses.

So you can have two of them that are completely different from each other. Tidy!

16. Knight’s Peace Shell

Knight's Peace Shell Destiny 2 Ghost Shells

Achieved: This was once an award for achieving faultlessness in Attempts of Nine for the StrategOS season.

The knight’s peace shell shines bright like a diamond and takes its place as one of the most beautiful ghost shells in D2.

Along with Omni-Telemetry with which you can create weapon telemetry for the Banshee-44, this exotic shell has an excellent guiding trait and a random mod from a pool of cache detectors and resources for different places like Io or EDZ.

15. Star Map Shell

Destiny 2 Star Map Shell. Ghost Shells

Obtained: This missile dropped from illuminated engrams during the Curse of Osiris season.

True to its name and description, this shell is a deep blue color with luminous accents reminiscent of the night sky.

If you’re the Ranger type who wants to map the stars, you can’t go wrong with a Star Chart Shell.

This is one of the few projectiles with the Treasure Hunter trait that detects caches within a 50m radius anywhere and increases the amount of Glimmer. Amazing when looking for resources.

Otherwise, it has the Omni-Telemetry ability and a random mod that will give you extra faction consumables in one of several possible destinations.

14. Alchemical Dawn

Dawn Destiny 2's Alchemical Ghost Bullets

Received: You will receive this unique coating for completing Crucible matches and earning rank-up packages from Lord Shaxx.

As described, this exotic spirit enclosure is perfect “for ghosts who are ready to see the rain of fire.” Bastard.

The Favorite Trait of the Banshees will help you generate telemetry faster than usual from each kill you receive with an energy weapon.

It also includes Vanguard and Crucible Scanners, which provide more faction consumables during such activities, as well as a random Scanner mod for one of the many destinations in the game.

13. Starlight Shell

Starlight Shell Destiny 2 Ghost Shells

Received: Although the drop rate is excruciatingly low, this missile can be obtained by doing activities in the Dreaming City, including the Ascension Challenge in particular.

This rough looking steel shell offers two completely random mods.

As such, it may seem strange to rank her so high in our rankings, but being able to grow her statistically ensures that you will end up with a good flush.

12. Kill-Tracker Ghost Shell

Destiny 2 Kill Tracker Ghost Shell. Ghost Shell

Obtained: This Legendary Missile was once available for pre-order only, but can now be purchased from Lord Shaxx at the cost of some Legendary Shards.

This is one of those items you only get to brag to other Guardians of your Crucible skills and overall toughness.

Not only does it track your total kills in both Vanguard and Crucible activities, it also provides two random mods.

If you’re lucky, one of them will give you 10% extra Crucible XP.

It looks great with the default blue and orange colors, but this shell works great with most shaders as well. The possibilities are endless.

11. Constricting Shell

Concealer Conch Destiny 2 Ghost Shell

Received: This legendary coating is part of Eververse’s seasonal items for Season of the Worthy and can only be purchased from this store.

With its amazing design featuring a snake organically wrapped around its shell and the Hunters logo on the back, this is surely one of the coolest ghost shells for anyone who takes pride in their Hunter heritage.

In addition to Demon Speed and a random mod, this missile gives you access to the Public Defender trait, which greatly increases your public event loot.

Thanks to this, grinding them can be quite profitable.

10. Rust Punk Shell

Rusty punk Destiny 2 Ghost Shells

Received: Can be found in both Nostalgic and Etched Engrams that you must take to Tess Everis in the Eververse Store for decryption.

If you fancy a steampunk Guardian look, you can’t go wrong with this rusty coating.

That said, what ultimately lifts this ghost shell is definitely a Treasure Hunter trait. This is extremely useful and quite rare.

9. Sanctified Vigilance

Hallowed vigilance Destiny 2 Ghost Shells

Received: Used to drop Love Memories engram decrypted in Eververse during Season of Dawn.

This intricately ornate black shell with gold accents is perfect for Rangers who don’t mind being too elegant for any occasion.

Public Defender is by far the most valuable feature of this shell, alongside Omni-Telemetry and the random modifier.

8. Crimson Shell

Crimson Shell Destiny 2 Ghost Shells

Received: This Ghost shell was available for purchase from Eververse during the Season of Dawn Celebration of Crimson Days (Valentine’s Day.

Edge Guardians will feel naturally drawn to the pointed edges of this exotic shell and the menacing red-tinged glow.

When it comes to bonuses, it has an extremely valuable Guiding Light that gives you 10% more XP from all sources, and Favorite Banshee is always handy for grinding Weaponsmith rewards.

It also provides an additional random mod.

7. Predator Sun Shell

Predator Sun Shell Destiny 2 Ghost Shells

Received: This exotic item drops from Solstice engrams, only available from Tess Everis during the Solstice of Heroes event.

There are very few other Ghost Shells with such a dark, sinister appearance.

It is reminiscent of a black sun with a ritualistic significance, which makes it ideal for keepers interested in the occult.

Luckily for all macabre Guard enthusiasts, the Predator Sun Shell is not only compelling, but also useful with a public defender increasing Public Event rewards, a random mod, and omni-telemetry like most other top-tier shells.

6. Traitor Primus Shell

Traitor Primus Shell Destiny 2 Ghost Shells

Obtained: The Traitor Primus Shell is part of the Season of Dawn Eververse Seasonal Merchandise.

Described as ideal “for ghosts who only know infinite ambitions”, this shell has an intimidating appearance that is also literally one of the greatest.

It doesn’t even match the picture of the item!

Like many other missiles, this one enables your Spirit to generate more telemetry from a weapon thanks to the Omni-Telemetry property.

In addition, it has the Public Defender trait which makes it perfect for practicing public events and a random mod.

5. Contender’s Shell

Contender's Shell Destiny 2 Ghost Shells

Achieved: This missile can only be obtained by carrying out the Leviathan raid.

While your ghost will look like a smartphone in a protective case rather than the mystical aspect of a Traveler, this shell is an absolute must if you’re sporting a Leviathan Raid gear.

In addition to tracking the number of times you have raided, its Glow Seeker trait allows Bright Engrams to be dropped into the final crate.

Furthermore, the Fortune Seeker makes all Exotic items acquired by Leviathan 50% more likely to be Year 1 Exotic items that you don’t already own.

4. Cosmos Shell

Cosmos Shell Destiny 2 Ghost Shells

Received: This old missile dropped from Bright Engrams in Season 2.

Humans have always raved about the majesty of the universe around them and its mysteries, and this has not changed with the advent of the Traveler and the subsequent rise of the Guardians.

It is the perfect solution to show your love for the cosmos by enclosing your Spirit in shining stars.

The Leading Trait was once exclusive to the outer space shell, and remains its most appealing trait as you simply can’t beat the 10% XP gain increase.

It also has Omni-Telemetry and a random mod that will help you find resource caches on one of the game planets.

3. Almost Mighty Shell

Almost Mighty Shell Destiny 2 Ghost Shells

Obtained: This shell is part of the Eververse Goods during Season of the Worthy.

Surely the funniest coating in the game is the Exotic from Season 10.

It’s a parody of the Almighty, the Red Legion’s superweapon-destroying systems… except it’s just a ball with two measuring cups attached to it.

Thought you were getting the all-powerful shell? Well, you were wrong.

Ironically, with the Treasure Hunter and Favorite Banshee traits, this is actually a fairly powerful Ghost Housing, and one that you shouldn’t miss if you see it in Eververse.

2. Sagira’s Shell

Sagira's Shell Destiny 2 Ghost Shells

Obtained: Obtain this incredible shell by fulfilling all 11 Lost Prophecies of Osiris for Brother Vance on Mercury.

A fan favorite due to its association with Osiris’s witty and loyal companion, Sagira’s Shell looks just like the legendary Guardian Spirit.

While both of its traits are regionally tied to Mercury, they remain extremely useful in increasing Flicker and fractional consumables, as well as revealing caches and resources within 75 meters.

If only that would make your Spirit sound like Sagira…

1. Omolon Shell

Omolon Shell Destiny 2 Ghost Shells

Obtained: This missile was added to the Eververse Goods during Season of Dawn.

The Omolon shell is the only one in the entire game to combine the features of Guiding Light and Treasure Hunter, possibly the best you can get in a shell.

That said, I think it’s fair to say what makes this shell so special that it looks exactly like a Pokéball if you use the Crucible Vermillion shader on it.

Imagine how much influence you would have on that!

Use as much as possible. In this guide, we show you how to fine-tune and modify your Ghost in Destiny 2.

Equipping Mods

There are four different types of mods you can put on your ghost shell. You can only have one of each type, and their Energy Capacity cost is based on the overall cap of 10 at Master Rank.

The better the mod, the higher the cost, so it may take a bit of need-balancing to get the payload you want. You should also not be afraid to change it depending on your goals and actions.

To equip mods, simply scroll through the appropriate mod type and then select the desired mod from the list, paying attention to the capacity requirements. As we said, you’ll have to balance everything.

If you have access to resources, it is not a bad idea to set up Ghost Missiles for each activity.

Destiny 2’s Crimson Days Valentine’s Day event is coming, love is in the air (though outnumbered by bullets and burning plasma patches), and there’s a whole bag of special prizes up for grabs, especially in the PvP Crucible. The full Crimson Days loot table has 20 items, including sparrows, ghost shells, emotes, and required emblems. Most of the Crimson Days special loot can be earned by acquiring Crimson Engrams – which come with Highlighted Engrams at higher levels, and have a chance to appear at higher levels the end of Crucible matches in the Crimson Days playlist – but yes, these are a few extra special items you’ll need to complete certain tasks to get them. These include special versions of all of the above rewards types, and most importantly, a dance emoticon that replicates Beyonce’s routine from All the Single Ladies. This is, first and foremost, the crown jewel of the Crimson Days. That’s why you will play it. This is your goal. How can this be achieved? I will explain this and all other special award criteria below. I’ll also tell you how to be good in the new Crucible of Crimson Days mode. Winning matches won’t actually help you get the loot, but you’ll be fine, so why don’t you? But for now, let’s tackle the reward hardware, starting with;

How to win in the Crimson Days Crucible playlist

Stick together. Playing in close partnership with a paired Guardian is key in the specially designed 2v2 Crimson Days mode, and not just for the usual reasons. Where the standard Crucible encourages close teamwork through the excessive power of combined fire, things are more interesting in Crimson Days. Stay close and you’ll trigger a perk called Reunited which makes both Guardians’ skills charge very quickly. How ridiculously fast. For example “grenades, rifts and shields close enough whenever you want” fast. Conversely, if you get too far away, the opposing team will see a marker on the screen that will highlight your positions wherever you are on the map. You don’t want them to see it.

When it comes to detailed combat tactics, Crimson Days is much more about zone control than any other mode in Destiny 2. Just like in the old days of Halo doubling, the best strategy is to block the power ammo respawn and then hide in a defense stance. It’s almost always best to get the opposing team to come to you, exposing themselves the way they do. So sit back, make Reunied’s perk smooth, and empower your position with the grotesque abuse of special abilities. Warlocks seem to be particularly powerful players in Crimson Days due to their healing and rift enhancement abilities – a team of two warlocks that drop both rifts together can make any area a forbidden zone – while the Titan / Sorcerer can also be wonderfully effective at closing aisles and lanes by adding barrier covers to the mix.

Basically, force your opponents to attack boldly, control the routes available to them, stay charged and the match will always be played on your terms. Note, however, that the Revenge bonus perk triggers when one Guardian dies in the United scenario. Here, the Sentinel who survives will receive an instant boost to health, speed, and weapon skills, making the 1v2 hard thrusts actually doable. Remember that it will still be risky so be careful and choose your moments wisely. But a facility is available should the appropriate circumstances arise, especially at close range. And needless to say, if you get separated – which is especially likely during a respawn – come back to yourself before doing anything else.
