Prime Gaming (formerly known as Twitch Prime) is a premium experience available through Amazon Prime and Prime Video membership. It offers a range of benefits to those using Twitch, the company’s video game content streaming service. Here’s everything you need to know about Prime Gaming and how to use it.

Prime Gaming is not to be confused with Twitch Turbo, a premium subscription that offers ad-free viewing, expanded streaming space, bonus emotes, and more. It costs $ 8.99 per month.

How to Access Prime Gaming (Formerly Twitch Prime)

Prime Gaming is automatically included with your Amazon Prime or Prime Video subscription. Of course, you need to register if you haven’t already. Next, you’ll need to link your Twitch account to your Amazon Prime account to access Prime Gaming features. Here’s how to do it.

If you don’t already have Amazon Prime, select Try Prime and follow the instructions to complete the membership registration process.

If you already have Amazon Prime, follow the instructions to link your Twitch account to your Amazon account.

Link your Twitch account button on Amazon

When prompted to complete the account linking process, select Confirm.

Confirm button to link your Twitch account

Twitch and Amazon only need to be connected once. Once done, the connection works on other devices you use Twitch with, such as Xbox One or iPhone.

To check your subscriptions, visit or click your avatar in the top right corner of Twitch, then click “Subscriptions.”

What is Twitch Prime?

Increase your benefits with Twitch Prime

If you’re not yet an Amazon Prime subscriber, you’ll need to become one to activate Twitch Prime as this is just one of the many benefits you get from joining the main Amazon Prime program, with exclusive add-ons for anyone who connects their Twitch and Amazon Accounts.

Assuming you’re an Amazon Prime subscriber, you can try both Twitch and Amazon Prime together for free for 30 days to get a feel for it. After registering, go to where you will be able to link your accounts.

You get one free subscription every 30 days that you can use to support your favorite streamers. Receive financial benefits; you do not have to pay. When you click subscribe on their page, you’ll see the option to take advantage of a free subscription when you have one. You’ll get a reminder when it’s gone, and 30 days later it will come back for a re-issue.

Twitch Prime subscriptions do not automatically renew like regular subscriptions, so you must remember to use them monthly.

Twitch Prime is available worldwide with the exception of China, India, and “Embargoed Territories.” In countries where Amazon Prime is supported (US, Mexico, Canada, Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Spain, Japan, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Singapore, or UK), you must have Amazon Prime to also have Twitch Prime.

If you are not located in one of the countries listed above, you can sign up for Twitch Prime with a Prime Video subscription. Whichever way you play, you must have something on Amazon Prime.

Twitch Turbo

If you are paying for Twitch Turbo, you should cancel it immediately if you activate Twitch Prime. The benefits of Turbo are bundled into Prime, you just get a different banner on your site. If you paid for both, Amazon will refund your last Turbo payments for a limited time by opening a support ticket.

Twitch Prime benefits:

  • Free Twitch subscription every 30 days to support your favorite streamers.
  • Member access to free game content.
  • Exclusive savings for members on physical games from Amazon.
  • Exclusive Emoticons.
  • Expanded chat color options.
  • Prime Chat Badge for members only.
  • Free in-game content thanks to affiliate relationships.
  • Free monthly games.

How Much Do Streamers Get from Twitch Prime Subs?

How many streamers do they get from a Twitch Prime subscription?

A new streamer who has just become a Twitch partner will receive a 50% subscription worth $ 5, or 3,500.50. They will also get the same rate for every prime subscription they get. Since Amazon is a huge company that has publicly disclosed that it has over 100 million Amazon Prime users, it’s likely that 1 in 5 viewers will have an Amazon Prime account or know someone who does.

As you already know, the Prime subscription is not automatically renewed. This means that after 30 days of paid subscription, the viewer will have 30 days of free subscription. If they want to use it on the same stream, they can but have to renew their subscription.

The reason I mention it is because it can be used to your advantage if you are a streamer. Often times, people forget that their subscription is over, so they will be watching the broadcaster without knowing they have a free subscription. This is why commentators often remind people that they can subscribe for free with Twitch Prime! They know that people will often have access to a free subscription, and chances are, if they are watching a broadcast, they can just use it.

on average, pro-streamers can earn anywhere from $ 3,000 to $ 5,000 per month playing 40 hours a week, just from the Prime Sub option. Excluding ad revenue, which averages around $ 250 per 100 subscribers.

While no one says exactly how much they earn, some of the biggest influencers are reportedly earning over $ 300,000 a year from playing video games. If Piper Jaffray’s estimates are right, streamers like Probly_Ovr_9000 and GuardianOutpost could continue to grow – and the numbers could be huge.

How much do Twitch Streamers Make Per Prime Sub?

Does the Twitch Prime sub give money to partners? Merely paying for membership doesn’t do anything to broadcasters. However, subscribing to a particular streamer with a prime subscription gives you the normal rate that the broadcaster has included in their normal subscription contract.

As mentioned above, “Twitch Prime” viewers are paying $ 5 per month. For regular streamers, 50 percent of subscription revenue goes to Twitch and the other half is retained by the commentator. High-end individuals with 10,000+ subscribers keep 70 percent of their subscription revenue. Quick math has revealed that the best Ninja streamer, with 121,000 subscribers, is making $ 423,500 a month on subscribers alone. Wang’s 4,000 subscribers earn approximately $ 14,000 per month.

Select Don’t Renew. This will cause your subscription to expire at the end of the current billing period and you will not be billed in the next billing cycle.

How Do Streamers Earn Money From Subs?

You must be a Twitch Affiliate or a Twitch Partner to earn money from subscriptions. Regular streamers cannot subscribe to their channels. Once you start collecting subscribers on your channel, Twitch will pay you when you reach $ 100 in earnings.

Once you reach $ 100 or more, Twitch will pay you 15 days after the end of each month, which is essentially every 45 days. Up to this level of $ 100, your money will just sit on Twitch. No problem.

When you start streaming, subscriptions are a great way to make money quickly and easily, especially if many of your viewers have Twitch Prime subscriptions that they don’t use.

Do Streamers Make Money From Gifted Subs?

As with other subscriptions, Twitch Affiliates will receive a 50% discount on the subscription price, and Twitch Affiliates will receive the percentage that they have agreed in their contract with the Twitch partner.

As streamers, your followers can gift you a Tier 1, 2 or 3 subscription and you will receive a discount depending on your Twitch streamer status.

The gifted subscriptions work like regular subscriptions, except that they were not purchased by the person who is the subscription. However, the payout is the same as are the bonuses given for subscriptions.

Twitch Affiliates receive 50% of the subscription cost. The amount of money Twitch Affiliates receive from their subscription will vary depending on the contract they have signed with Twitch, but will typically receive more than the 50% discount that Twitch Affiliates receive.

Subscribing With Prime: What’s the Catch?

  • Twitch doesn’t support Prime subscriptions in every country, but if you live in the US or UK, it should work flawlessly.
  • It really costs you nothing, but you only get one Prime subscription per month.
  • Unlike other subscription types, the Prime subscription doesn’t auto-renew 🙁 You have to do this manually every month, but your streamer will really appreciate it.
  • Don’t worry though! I’ll be sending you one automatic email per month to remind you to subscribe to Prime if you like. Just send me an e-mail to [email protected] and enter “Twitch Sub Reminder” in the subject of the message. That’s it!
