Our prayers on the first day of E3 have been answered: Anthem was juicy meat at the EA Play hub at E3 2018. We now have a release date and a lot more about the balance between single and multiplayer modes. Bioware’s Iron Man simulator was initially picked as Destiny’s rival, but without PvP, Anthem becomes its own beast.

How to follow every keynote at E3 2018
E3 2018 has finally arrived – almost. Even though the actual show won’t start on Tuesday, Sony, Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft, Square Enix, Nintendo, Bethesda and basically every other big brand in gaming will take the stage in the next few days to kick off the conference with tons of announcements.
New games? Would you like trailers? Actual gameplay footage? Maybe even the release dates? All this and more await. Here’s when / where you can watch the biggest events and what to expect from each of them.
9 things to expect from E3 2018, the biggest week in games
Monday, June 11th
Square Enix
When: Monday, June 11 at 10:00 AM FRI / 1:00 PM ET
What: Square Enix is making its first appearance on E3 since 2015. We know Shadow of the Tomb Raider and the long-awaited Kingdom Hearts III will be in the spotlight. But Square Enix also has a game in the pipeline based on the popular Marvel Avengers franchise. And what better time to announce it than after the hype about Infinity War? In addition, there are rumors of new entries in the Just Cause and Life Is Strange series. Or maybe, just maybe, an update to the probably mythical Final Fantasy VII Remake (or even Final Fantasy XVI).
How To Watch: Watch a Square Enix video presentation on Twitch or YouTube
Ubisoft
When: Monday, June 11 at 1:00 PM PT / 4:00 PM ET
What: Expect a more official Assassin’s Creed Odyssey reveal (which has already been teased), a first look at the The Division sequel previously announced by Ubisoft, inspired by AC: Black Flag Skull & Bones that Ubisoft announced last year, and hopefully some more specific gameplay and info on the long-awaited Beyond Good & Evil 2.
How To Watch: Watch Ubisoft’s Live Stream on Twitch or YouTube.
PC Gaming Show
When: Monday, June 11 at 3:00 PM PT / 6:00 PM ET
What: A bag of general PC gaming news, PC Gamer promises “more unannounced games, undisclosed trailers and new footage than in any previous year.”
How to Watch: Watch the presentation live on Twitch or YouTube.
Sony (PlayStation)
When: Monday, June 11 at 6:00 p.m. PT / 9:00 p.m. ET
What? (Expect the new Forsaken expansion for Destiny 2 to be released here as well.) But there might also be surprises: the God of War DLC? Continuation of Horizon Zero Dawn? Anything new from developer Bloodborne FromSoftware? We’ll have to wait and see.
How To Watch: Watch Sony Live Stream on Twitch or YouTube.
With Skyrim seven years behind us, the new Elder Scrolls look feels as likely as anything from Bethesda’s fresher but less successful IPs like Wolfenstein, Prey and Doom.
Electronic Arts
Saturday, June 9
11:00 PST / 2:00 PM EST / 7:00 PM BST / 4:00 AM AEST (Sunday)
The press conference marathon begins with EA Play. Perhaps the most predictable of many, we can expect a lot of sports, some Battlefield V gameplay, and what BioWare has done with Anthem. There isn’t much room for surprises, but the publisher will likely be ready to show off a portion of their next EA Original offering.
You can watch it through EA | Twitch | Youtube
Microsoft
Sunday June 10
1:00 PM PST / 2:00 PM EST / 9:00 PM BST / 6:00 AM AEST (Monday)
Xbox has confirmed that it will delve into previously announced games such as the long-awaited Crackdown 3, but also “teasers for our unannounced titles coming in 2018 and beyond”.
Relying heavily on its old catalog of hits like Halo and Gears of War, Xbox’s offering has been fairly weak lately, but with the success of the Xbox One X, perhaps the platform owner is ready to show off something new.
If you can’t worry about it, here are the highlights. First off, there’s a new Halo game called Halo Infinite, two new Gears games – Gears 5 and Gears Tactics – and a hefty Cyberpunk 2077 E3 2018 trailer.
The Biggest E3 News
EA is hosting its own event around E3, so while it likes to call its event “EA Play”, it’s essentially EA at E3. The EA E3 2018 conference will take place on June 9 at the following times:
- june 9 – 11:00 AM PT
- june 9 – 2:00 PM ET
- june 9 – 7:00 PM BST
For more information, including embedded video streams, visit our EA 2018 press conference page. Check it out for the latest information on the games to be showcased. You can also stay up to date with all the news with what will surely not be a sarcasm-filled E3 2018 EA live blog.
EA E3 2018 News Roundup
Square Enix will return to E3 on its own stage for the first time since 2018. Square Enix’s press conference at E3 2018 will be broadcast at the following times:
- june 11 – 10:00 PST
- june 11 – 1:00 PM EST
- june 11 – 6:00 PM BST
Check out our Square Enix E3 2018 guide, where we speculate on what games are likely to be there (Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Kingdom Hearts 3) and what wild cards may appear in the show (Final Fantasy VII Remake). We also have an E3 2018 Square Enix live blog which should be fun.
What: Honestly, I have no idea. Devolver Digital is already a wild card when it comes to information meetings at E3, and the late hour and the company’s current propensity to mess with people when it comes to information meetings mean anything can happen.
Other streams for Xbox One fans at E3 2018
PC Gaming Show at E3 2018
PC Gamer brings back the PC Gaming Show at E3 2018, being the only conference event targeting this platform. The program will once again show the upcoming equipment along with selected games that will hit the PC.
The PC Gaming Show program is not directly related to the Xbox One, although we may see relevant announcements. Third-party games will be featured in trailers and announcements at the show, and some may hit consoles. Microsoft also took the stage earlier, revealing upcoming features for the wider presence of the Xbox on Windows 10.
When: Monday, June 11 at 6:00 p.m. EST (3:00 p.m. PT / 11:00 p.m. UK time).
Where to watch: PC Gamer YouTube and PC Gamer Twitch.
Square Enix E3 2018 press conference
Square Enix has decided to hold its own press conference at E3 2018, presenting a small collection of upcoming titles under its wing. You can expect long-awaited details about Kingdom Hearts III, as well as the debut of the game in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. More about the Final Fantasy VII remake and the upcoming Avengers game may also be at the conference. While Square Enix’s conference won’t be as extensive as other publishers, its hit titles are still worth watching.
When: Monday, June 11 at 13:00 ET (10 AM PT / 6:00 PM UK time).
Where to watch: Square Enix YouTube and Square Enix Twitch.

Intel’s €1.06 billion antitrust fine overturned by EU’s General Court
The European Union Court has just lifted a € 1.06 billion fine imposed on Intel in 2009. The fine was initially imposed after the European Commission found that Intel was abusing its dominant position in the processor market to foreclose competitors.

E3 2018 start date
E3 2018 will run from June 12-14 in Los Angeles. As it becomes more and more normal, some of the top publishers have chosen not to show their disclosures during the show, instead organizing their own local event. Here’s a rundown of what and when.

With many big players opting to do their own shows, E3 goes well beyond the two days of the main convention.

E3 2018 – other notable transmissions
In addition to these conferences, E3 2018 has other events this year. For starters, if you keep an eye on the Sony stream above, there will be a PS4 announcement every day before the event to replace the traditional pre-show. Here are a few other things on display:
PC Gaming Show – E3 2018

There were games we already knew about first, starting with the Rage 2 gameplay trailer. We saw more driving and combat during the assault on the faction outpost, but we also enjoyed a look at some of Walker’s abilities. We’re also getting a new Black Marsh DLC for The Elder Scrolls Online.
E3 2018 Square Enix
This relatively short show turned out to be quite disappointing. We’ve seen more of Lara, but there have been a few notable absences. Regardless, here’s what happened at the Square Enix E3 2018 conference.
Square kicked off their show with a new trailer for Shadow of the Tomb raider, in which Lara crashes a plane and stealthily attacks bad guys. We received an unexpected disclosure of a new game: Babylon’s Fall. Aside from the fact that he has a fantasy and is made by Platinum Games, we don’t know much else about him.
Not a word about the new Avengers Project, but we got the reveal of The Quiet Man, which seems to have Sleeping Dogs-style hand-to-hand combat and a new Just Cause 4 gameplay trailer.
E3 2018 Ubisoft
Ubisoft’s press conference at E3 2018 was a little disappointing considering how many sequels and new games it could announce. Even so, they had a lot of new content and features for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey that they could boast of. For example, you will be able to select the gender of the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey character. Expect a fight with the Minotaur in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. We also got news about The Division 2 raids, and loads of information on customizing Skull and Bones ships.
The launch of Anthem on February 21, 2019 and Battlefield 5 on October 19, 2018 have been confirmed. But we don’t know what surprises EA has in store for, perhaps an expansion pack for Star Wars Battlefront 2?
More Publishers, Developers
You can also expect a lot from other publishers and developers.
The Bethesda conference is expected to center around Fallout 76 and Rage 2, the company’s largest franchises that have already been confirmed.
Square Enix returns to the E3 scene after three years. We may be able to see more of Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Kingdom Hearts 3, as well as this Avengers-based game we raved about.
More franchises are also expected to come out of the Nintendo Switch console, including Smash Bros., Pokémon, and Fortnite.
Sony, as promised, will be showing more games on the E3 scene, and some PlayStation exclusive games may be among them.
