Microsoft Rewards Review: How I Earned $100 in Microsoft Points

Microsoft Rewards is a free program. Anyone can sign up for a Microsoft account and start collecting points. All you need to do is take advantage of Microsoft’s products and services.

This is a complete Microsoft Rewards review from my personal experience. I collected over 100,000 points and I’ll show you how to do the same. I will show you the advantages and disadvantages of the program. You can then better decide if you want to participate.

What is the Microsoft Rewards Program?

Again, Microsoft Rewards is a free program that anyone can use. There are no registration fees or obligations. It only requires a free Microsoft account. After creating your account, stay logged in and follow daily activities to earn points.

Microsoft Rewards is a program that lets you redeem your earned points for Microsoft gift cards, Xbox Game Pass subscriptions, Xbox Live Gold subscriptions, and much more. This is one of the best Xbox features that you may not use, and you can easily earn a lot of points in January. The new Microsoft Rewards Challenge will give you one Microsoft Rewards point for each Gamerscore point you earn, with a cap of 10,000 Rewards points.

NBA Twitter user Kirkland noticed the challenge (via TrueAchievements. The challenge runs from January 6 to January 26. During this time, each Gamerscore point earned will be credited to a Microsoft Rewards point (up to its 10,000 capping).

To take part in the challenge, you need to download the Microsoft Rewards app for Xbox and activate the punch card.

What you can redeem Microsoft Rewards points each month varies slightly from month to month, and the exact conversion rate of some rewards may vary. That being said, it’s safe to say that 10,000 Microsoft Rewards points will give you over a month of Xbox Game Pass. You can also use it for Microsoft gift cards, Xbox Live Gold subscriptions, and a few other rewards. You can also use your Rewards points to donate to charity or take part in a lottery.

A quick trick that you may not know is that you can set your Rewards points to auto-renew for certain rewards. When you do this, the exchange rate of points for prizes is slightly better than usual.

Is Xbox Game Pass Ultimate the best value for all games? It is possible. The Ultimate edition includes an Xbox Live Gold subscription, Xbox Game Pass for Xbox and Windows PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming for use on the go. This means access to hundreds of games, which are added all the time, for one monthly subscription cost.

The program pays you with reward points for searching the web using the Microsoft Bing search engine. The browser used is irrelevant, however many people use Microsoft Edge because Bing is the default search engine. Additionally, the use of Microsoft Edge comes with its own rewards (discussed below).

How to Earn Reward Points

Bing Searchses

Earning Microsoft Rewards points can be that simple – just search with Bing and you’ll earn points! Using the Bing app, Microsoft Edge, Cortana, or the Windows Search window can also earn points! This is the most common and easiest way to earn points. Just make sure you are logged into your device while searching!

More specifically, if you are a tier 1 member, you can earn up to 5 points per day for one Bing search you perform, which means you get a maximum of 150 points per month from searches on Bing. But if you’re a tier 2 member, you earn up to 20 points or 4 searches per day from Bing searches, which means you can earn up to 600 points each month! (This applies to US members. If you live elsewhere, the point you get for Bing searches may be different.)

Daily Sets

The Microsoft Rewards Dashboard is filled with quizzes and surveys that you can complete to earn points. These daily sets will typically be worth around 10 points each, sometimes more, you need to score at least 30 points from that to receive a streak reward. These Daily Sets are updated daily, so be sure to check back daily.

If you keep your streak going, you’ll earn extra points. Please note that you must be signed in to Microsoft Rewards and earn at least 30 Daily Pack points to complete your streak.

For example, you will receive a bonus gift of 45 points if you achieve a 3-day streak; and a 75 point bonus gift for completing an 8-day streak. If you keep your streak going, you can earn a maximum of 150 points every 10 days.

Microsoft Store Purchase

Another way to accumulate points is by buying items in the Store Buy items in the Microsoft Store online. Of course, you’ll need to make sure you’re signed in with the email address associated with your Microsoft Rewards account.

You earn points for any purchases you make from the Microsoft Store. Tier 1 members earn 1 Rewards point for every dollar spent on qualifying online purchases, while Tier 2 members earn 10 Rewards points for every dollar spent. Once your order is complete or shipped, digital order points will be awarded within 72 hours.

The Microsoft Store has good deals on apps, games, books, movies, TV shows, and hardware. So if you plan on buying stuff online, think about Microsoft Store and Rewards points you can earn.

Refer a Friend

If you refer a friend to Microsoft Rewards, you will earn 30 points. Thanks to this, you can earn up to 300 points per month, which means inviting 10 friends per month. And if your friend installs the Rewards extension within the first 3 days, you’ll get 70 points. If your friend searches for five days in the first month, you’ll earn 500 points! Thanks to this, you can earn up to 6,000 points per month. Tell your friends about Microsoft Rewards now and start earning points for free gift cards and more.

Note that this only applies to the US region. You and your friends should live in the US to take advantage of this offer.

The third suggestion on our list to get the most out of Microsoft Rewards concerns Xbox. If you have an Xbox One or Xbox Series S | X console, be sure to download the Microsoft Rewards application there. This app will provide you with a “Weekly Reward Pack” where you can complete tasks every week to earn bonus points. You can also earn 50 points for any Xbox achievement and earn points by playing a specific game or task. The weekly prize pack also has its own streak system where you can earn anywhere from 100 to 500 bonus points for keeping your streak on. Again, keep on streak to score the most points!

In addition to the standard Xbox Rewards app, we also suggest trying the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. For $ 10 a month, you’ll have access to great tasks in the Xbox Game Pass Hub on your console. There you can complete tasks to earn weekly, daily and monthly points. The tasks are fairly simple and add up quickly.

Shop and earn points

Our final tip is to spend the money. If you buy movies, TV shows, or games from the Microsoft Store on Xbox or Windows 10, you’ll earn additional Microsoft Rewards points. You can earn 1 point for every dollar you spend on searching Microsoft Store online, on games, movies, TV shows, or on physical equipment like Surface or other accessories.

On top of that, you also earn cashback through Bing by spending at some retailers. This happens through Bing Rebates. You can visit this page here to find out more. When you make purchases through Bing Rebates, the money will be refunded to your Microsoft Rewards account through PayPal, with some discounts as high as 7% -15%.

Other ways to win Rewards points

Until recently, Microsoft was sending out a weekly email with the option to win Rewards points for clicking links, as well as the occasional “hidden link” that rewarded even more. This seems to have gone in favor of the extended capabilities of the Xbox.

There are also hidden crumbs from time to time. The Microsoft Rewards extension for Chrome promises bonus points, and the Bing Android app used to be (this implementation was broken on my phone for months).

How many points can you earn from Microsoft Rewards per month?

Microsoft Rewards is always changing, so the value of individual tasks and the total number of Rewards points available fluctuates constantly. The keen hawks of Rewards look out for discounts on gift cards, extending your rewards even further. There are special promotions constantly.

With that said, one Reddit member has calculated that you can earn up to 18,000 points per month, or roughly $ 22.50. At this point, the amount of effort required to earn each Rewards point wouldn’t seem worth your time.

Smart Rewards users balance their time with potential rewards. Sure, you can probably afford the extra $ 5 a month for Microsoft’s Game Pass for PC. But there’s something oddly satisfying about just “getting it for free” – and Microsoft Rewards scratches that itch.

Are There Different Levels in the Program?

You earn 5 points for each search on Bing. Earnings within the program’s tier 1 cap at 50 points per day or 10 Bing searches. However, level 2 provides more room for potential earnings.

But to get there, you need to earn over 500 points in one month. As long as you earn at least 500 points per month, you will stay at that level.

You want to be at this level to get the maximum rewards possible. Otherwise, you are making it difficult for yourself to earn points for some of the coveted rewards discussed below.

Level 2 allows for a higher daily limit of daily points you can earn. Remember that level 1 limits you to 50 points per day. Level 2 is much more generous with up to 250 points per day.

At level 1, you limit 10 searches per day (10 searches x 5 points each), while level 2 limits you to 50 searches per day (50 searches x 5 points each). These paid searches are critical to earning points in the program.

How Do You Earn Microsoft Rewards?

The program has three main ways to earn points:

1. Search to Earn

As mentioned above, searching on Bing via Microsoft Edge and Cortana is the fastest way to earn points that can be redeemed for rewards. By logging into your Microsoft account and searching on Bing, you add more scoreboard points, or 5 points per search.

You’ll want to advance to tier 2 quickly, keeping at least 500 points earned each month. This second level allows you to earn higher daily maximum points and ultimately a faster way to redeem something of value.

Using Bing Search on mobile devices and Microsoft Edge, and using the Windows Search window on a computer, provides the most satisfactory results.

Level 1 members earn up to 5 points per day (150 points per month) by searching Bing in Microsoft Edge on a computer or mobile device, while Tier 2 members earn up to 20 points per day (600 points per month). This is tied to the points you earn for searching on Bing.

2. Shop to Earn

Purchases from the Microsoft Store allow you to earn program rewards. If you want to rent a movie from Microsoft Movies & TV, buy a new Surface tablet, or buy another Microsoft product, you can earn 1 point for every 400 spent.

To do this, you’ll need to stay signed in to your Microsoft account, make purchases from the Microsoft Store on Xbox, Windows, or online, and Microsoft will track your earned points. Moreover, by spending money on Xbox on qualifying digital content, you can earn up to 20 points for 400.

This works after reaching Level 2 membership. When you make qualifying online purchases from Microsoft Store as a Level 2 member, you will earn 10 points for every dollar spent, plus any applicable bonus points.

Tier 2 members will receive Xbox Live rewards, receiving an additional 10 points for every dollar spent, for a total of 20 points for every dollar spent.

Microsoft also offers daily specials direct from your rewards page. This can be a lucrative way to earn points for purchases you already intended to make. Be careful with unnecessary expenses and try to stick to your personal budget plan.

3. Play to Earn

Microsoft knows commitment is a hot commodity and wants to fight for your time. Therefore, it tries to create constant incentives to motivate you to continue participation.

The program includes daily offers colored with quirky holidays and unique facts. Offers weekly trivia quizzes and a colorful email series. Finally, the program offers daily quizzes that take you on quick adventures on the Internet each day in search of answers.

All of these tests test your skills and allow you to earn points with fun and easy challenges without having to enter any personal information. These activities lead Program Participant to use the Bing search engine and other Microsoft products on a regular basis, thereby enabling Microsoft to build a stronger product ecosystem.

If you maximize your points within five minutes of each day, you will earn around $ 4 per hour on the best trade in the trades. This is below the minimum wage and is not necessarily the best use of your time.

It’s Never Been Easier to Earn Free Microsoft Gift Cards via Microsoft Rewards

If you’re just enrolling in the rewards program, reaching 4,000 points in the next few weeks may be difficult, but it’s still a good idea to start saving for your next redemption incentive. You can already earn 500 points by simply installing Bing on your phone and an additional 2,500 points if you buy or rent movies this month.

What Is Microsoft Rewards and How Does It Work?

For Tier 1 members, every dollar spent is equal to one Rewards point, although Tier 2 members earn 10 points for every dollar spent. Additionally, if you’re a Tier 2 member with Xbox Live Gold, you’ll get an extra 10 points per dollar (20 points total).
• Take Quizzes and Surveys: The Microsoft Rewards website is full of silly quizzes and surveys that you can complete to earn points. These daily kits will typically be worth 30-40 points each and cover a variety of categories such as history, pop culture, and current events. Even if trivia is not your thing, you usually get points no matter how many correct answers you give, so just keep clicking for easy earnings.
• Take a look at Microsoft promotional material: Microsoft encourages you to read specific articles on its corporate blog, watch featured videos, and engage with other pieces of promotional material. Check the Microsoft Rewards home page to see which content is eligible. While these are usually only worth 10-20 points each, you get points the moment you click, so most of them require almost no time investment to redeem them.

What’s the Difference Between Level 1 and Level 2 Rewards?

When you register for a Microsoft Rewards account for the first time, you’ll be at Tier 1. To reach Tier 2, you need to earn 500 points within one month; then you stay at level 2 as long as you are still earning at least 500 points per month.
