The first major update since the launch of Fortnite Chapter 3 is available today for PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Nintendo, and mobile devices.

The good news is that it won’t take as long as the maintenance it takes to release Chapter 3, an event that meant Epic Games had to shut down their servers for the day.

Given previous crashes, today’s Fortnite downtime is expected to last a maximum of several hours.

Fortnite insiders Hypex says the new Holiday Event will feature in-game gifts and exclusive challenges. New items include a snowball launcher, candy, and a snowman.

Of course, Epic will also introduce many bug fixes and gameplay tweaks, some of which will fix exploits and other game issues.
