Frequently Asked Questions

A: No, although the New Tardis Mod was inspired by the original mod, it has nothing to do with it.

First, check that the information provided is accurate by referring to reliable, up-to-date sources such as FAQs, Tardis team answers, and the wiki. If you find conflicting information, compare and analyze the information between different sources.

If you’re still unsure, ask a question in the # mod-discussion channel on the discord server.

Q: Are basic mods required?

Not. You just need the Tardis mod jar file.

Q: What version of Forge do I need?

A: Recommended version is the latest version of Forge for Minecraft 1.14.4.

Q: Will you add support for cracked versions?

A: No, the developers do not support broken versions of Minecraft.

Q: When will the mod release the next update?

Q: What will be in the next version of the mod?

A: See channel # 114-git and # previews-114 on discord server.

Q: Is there a changelog?

A: More or less see channel # 114-git on discord server.

Mod Usage

Q: How to make a TARDIS

A: In v1.14.4, Tardis are now earned by finding them and encouraging them to be opened for you. In 1.12.2 you would create a Tardis Coral and wait for it to unfold.

Q: I don’t see much effect inside (BOTI?

A: By default BOTI is on, you may have turned it off. See in-game configuration options -> BOTI.

Q: How do I fly the TARDIS?

A: You need to put the required subsystems into the Tardis engine and refuel the ship. Currently required subsystems are Dematerialization circuit and fluid links (from version 1.1 for Minecraft 1.14.4). Then turn off the handbrake and right click on the throttle lever.

Q: Why is Tardis not starting / What are subsystems?

A: Tardis requires special components to be installed in order to be ready to fly. Currently requires a Dematerialization System and Fluid Interface. Other subsystems, such as the Chameleon circuit, are required for some monitor functions. (From version 1.1 for Minecraft 1.14.4)

Q: What are the Tardis controls?

Q: How do I call a TARDIS?

A: You will need to get a Stattenheim pilot. Then select the remote in the shortcut bar and right-click on the block. Tardis takes 10 seconds or more to reach its destination, depending on how far it has been from your current position.

Q: How to get mercury bottles?

Q: How do I generate rooms?

A: You cannot. You have to do this.

Q: Can I have more than one Tardis record in the world?

Q: Why can’t I get inside my Tardis?

A: Try the command / tardis interior. In v1.12.2, a possible cause may be a damaged Dimensional Dams subsystem. To fix this, create a time vector generator and right click outside.

If the problem persists, post a ticket on the Gitlab issues page.

Q: I heard the Tardis can land in itself. As?

A: In v1.12.2, if the thermocouple subsystem is destroyed, the Tardis will always land inside itself until the subsystem is repaired and reinstalled.

  1. Create a new thermocouple and reinstall it in the Tardis console.
  2. Verify that flight systems, fluid connectors, dimensional barriers, and artron edges are more than 20% operational.
  3. If any subsystem is not more than 20% life, repair or replace the item.
  4. Reinstall the repaired / new component by right-clicking the component on the Tardis console
  5. Pull the handbrake with the time dial to take off. The exterior of the Tardis will now slowly come out of the interior.

Note: If you are on a multiplayer server, use the command / tardis interior to access your interior or ask the server administrator for help if necessary. If you are in a single player world, please enable cheats to access the command.

Q: Will feature X be added to the next update?

A: Please see channels # previews-114, # 114-git on disagreement before asking. They show what is planned for the next update. You can also use the search bar on the discord server to check if the feature you want is being added.

This reduces the number of redundancies and gives developers more time to work on the modification.

Common Issues

Q: My game crashed while installing the mod. What I am doing?

A: Open a ticket on the Gitlab website and attach the appropriate crash report file.

Q: Do you accept WIP / Unpublished compilation problems? Like compiled .jar files from github with functions not posted on Curseforge page?

A: No, the developers do not accept compilation problems for the mods they are working on. If it were ready, it would be released.

Q: I am installing another mod that adds more dimensions, now my game crashes!

A: On 1.12.2 this is often caused by other mods adding dimensions with the same ID as this mod, but it’s a fairly simple fix!

  1. Go to% appdata% /. Minecraft / config
  2. Open “Tardis mod.cfg” in any text editor
  3. Change setDimension to true
  4. Change tardisDimension to any number that doesn’t conflict with other mods

Q: Why doesn’t Tardis land on the block I called him to?

A: Tardis will always try to land on exactly this block. It can bypass the landing site by 5-10 blocks as it checks enough outdoor space. If this check is not completed, the player frequently appears in the blocks after exiting the Tardis and suffocates to death .

Another factor that may cause is the Tardis Mood system. If the Tardis doesn’t like the pilot, it can land more inaccurately, up to an inaccuracy factor of 100 blocks.

Q: Why doesn’t Tardis travel to a specific biome via the Telepathic Circuits?

A: This may be because the biome is too far away. The biome must be within 500 blocks for Tardis to detect it.

Q: Why did a mob / player suddenly appear in my Tardis after landing?

A: Tardis will teleport any creature at the landing site into Tardis. When landing, the creature was in the coordinates of its destination.

Q: Why is the text on my monitor disappearing? How to fix it?

A: This is a known issue in version 1.12.2. This will not be fixed as mod makers are no longer working on this version

If you have modified the world in a certain way, the world will “forget” that you own a Tardis. This can be fixed if the Tardis owners list is reloaded.

Use the command / tardis remove and grow a new Tardis Coral. This should combine your new exterior with the previous interior you had.

If the game then displays a “Tardis Not Found” error, wait for a fix for that error to be posted.

Q: Can I see the inside of my Tardis being fully exposed behind the Tardis?

A: Performance mods such as Optifine are not compatible with the Bigger On the Inside effect. This is because their source code is closed source, so we cannot work or get around their rendering changes.

Fixing the Optifine incompatibility can be done by disabling Fast Render in Optifine. This may allow shaders and Optifine features to be used with the Bigger On the Inside effect, but is not guaranteed for all computers due to differences in graphics hardware or drivers.

Q: I’m trapped in the Tardis Dimension. How to get away

A: If you are trapped in the Tardis Dimension, use / kill. You can also use / tardis external to teleport outside of Tardis.

Remember that using / kill without the keepInventory game rule enabled removes all inventory items.

Q: My Tardis has crashed and now there are two outer elements. How to fix it?

A: The duplicate housing is caused by a bug that occurred during the Tardis crash.

Tardis failure can be caused by damaged flight systems, fluid connections, dimensional dams, low artron banks, or a known bug in the real world flight mode.

This wear of subsystems can be caused by the user neglecting to maintain the Tardis circuits, by users traveling absurdly long distances, or by applying the handbrake of the rotor during flight, severely stopping the flight and seriously damaging all flight related subsystems.

To fix this, stand on the duplicate enclosure and use the / setblock command

Then repair or replace necessary subsystems.

Q: My Tardis has crashed. Why do I keep getting damaged inside?

A: In v1.12.2 it is likely that Fluid Link subsystems are damaged. When they are destroyed, it causes mercury leaks in the Tardis which damage the player for a period of time. There is no such feature in versions 1.14.4. Check to see if other mods add a feature that does this.

Q: I looked at the coordinates on the Tardis key, but the Tardis is not there.

A: The coordinates on the key are for the position of the console in the TARDIS dimension, not where the TARDIS is landing. Hover the mouse over the synchronized Stattenheim remote to display the external coordinates.

Q: In v1.12.2, the Stattenheim Remote specifies my Tardis exterior as “None”? What does it mean?

A: Your Tardis exterior no longer exists in the world. Try using the / tardis interior command to access your interior, then apply the handbrake with the timer dial to land the Tardis.

If you cannot use the command, the Tardis Dimensional Damage is likely to be destroyed. If you know where your outside side is located, right click outside with the time vector generator.

Alternatively, try using the / tardis restoresys * command to restore all subsystems.

If the above solutions do not work, you need to delete Tardis from the player’s data and create a new one.
