Grand Theft Auto V for Windows

Rockstar Games released Grand Theft Auto V in 2013 for fans eagerly awaiting the next GTA release. The game offers an open world with offline and multiplayer modes, and also allows you to enjoy the Premium edition with additional features. It’s a fun, mature title with unique graphics, gameplay and story.

Immersive story and gameplay

Grand Theft Auto V will take you back to the infamous San Andreas, alluding to the GTA game of the same name. The story tells about the lives of the three main characters – Michael, Trevor and Franklin. Each of them has unique personality traits that often get him into trouble.

You can freely switch between them in the GTA V campaign by selecting main objectives or side quests. The first one fuels you towards the end of the story, while the second gives you the funds and experience to get better weapons and other items. If you are interested in real estate and vehicles, you can use your accumulated fortune to buy some of them in the city.

Of course, there is a major crime theme, so you can resort to violence and theft to pick up your property for free. Grand Theft Auto V is better suited to a mature audience with elements of sex, drugs and extreme violence. You will also have to make critical decisions in selected parts of the story which will affect the outcome.

Offline and multiplayer modes

The action-packed game is available offline and online. Before you can start playing, you have to decide which version you want to access. GTA V loads each segment separately, so you’ll leave Campaign Mode before going into multiplayer.

GTA Online has become popular over the years, and players continue to use their characters to wreak havoc in a variety of multiplayer challenges. You start by creating an avatar, changing its appearance, gender, clothing, and more. The open world aspect has been preserved so you are free to choose the way you want to conduct your online existence.

Grand Theft Auto Online contains many of the same campaign mechanics. The main variation is that you can compete with others for prizes or join your friends in eliminating opponents.

How to install GTA V on Windows

Before you can play Grand Theft Auto V on Windows, you’ll need to download a huge 95 GB file. It has grown over the years, starting at 36 GB in 2013 and reaching 65 GB in 2015. The file size is a testament to how much work and regular new content is Rockstar Games putting into an action / adventure game

After getting the file, you can use the installation wizard and choose a location on your hard drive where you want to store the program data. You have the option to create a desktop shortcut for easy access. It will take some time to install the file as it requires both offline and multiplayer.

You will also need to create a Rockstar Games Social Club account to play GTA V on Windows. This includes providing location information, submitting privacy information, and entering an account username and password. For security reasons, you should never share your account information with anyone.

Standard Edition vs Premium Edition

While GTA V Standard Edition is more affordable, the Premium Edition has some extra features you might like. The common elements are campaign and online modes. You will also receive standard weapons, bundles and items available to all players.

The main difference between GTA 5 and GTA 5 Premium Online Edition is the enhancement of the multiplayer version. The Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack is available in San Andreas with unique items, vehicles and additional cash worth $ 10,000,000. You would have an edge over your competition unless they buy the package in front of you.

When it comes to your arsenal of vehicles, you’ll get ten performance cars to drive through the streets. If you go into your wardrobe, you’ll also see new clothes to wear. The new weapon is also not the worst.

Restoring GTA V files

Many Grand Theft Auto V PC players have reported an issue with file crashes and loss of saved games. When you spend time, and perhaps real money, developing your criminal empire, this problem can be extremely frustrating. Fortunately, there is a way to restore GTAV files.

It depends mainly on the client you are playing on in your Windows environment. Some platforms have a Library folder where you can verify files and restore GTAV to the last safe setting. If you’re looking for a clean sweep with no mods, you may have to uninstall the game, remove the mod folders, and reinstall it.

Vehicle and weapon mayhem

It cannot be denied that Grand Theft Auto V is a hugely entertaining title packed with so many goals and items that you’ll spend months playing it. It is similar to Watch Dogs in terms of gameplay and open world factor, with a greater emphasis on crime and vice. There is also more freedom in GTA V to choose the desired path and customization options.

One thing is for sure: GTA V is one of the most successful titles in the series and will be popular for many years to come.

How to use Script Hook V, OpenIV and others to install mods for GTA 5 on PC.

Script Hook V

Most of the current mods are scripts, and you need the latest version of the Script Hook to work with them, created by Alexander Blade.

Here is the link Blade provides to download ScriptHook. Just remember to use the download link in the table on the lower right: there are ads on this page that also say they are downloadable.

There is a folder in the zip file called “bin” with three files.

dinput8.dll: This is the latest ASI loader that allows you to load libraries with the extension .asi.
ScriptHookV.dll: allows you to use custom scripts in GTA 5.
NativeTrainer.asi: You don’t need this trainer, but it’s there if you want. It allows all kinds of cheats in single player mode, such as skin change, time of day change, teleportation, invulnerability and many more.

Take dinput8.dll and ScriptHookV.dll (and the trainer if you want) and place them in the GTA 5 game directory wherever GTA5.exe is located. On Steam, this is ‘Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Grand Theft Auto V’.

That’s almost it! Most downloaded script mods will contain a single .asi file which you will throw in the same folder, although some may contain a few extra files. Always check the installation instructions for mods you download.

Have you modified the RPF manually placed in the GTA directory instead of using this manager? This manager will clear ALL MODS upon pressing GTA: Online, so either move RPF to GTAV mod folder or they will be deleted. :

How to use Script Hook V and Script Hook V

The next tool you’ll need is Alexander Blade’s Script Hook V, which you can download from the AB Software Development website here. This tool modifies your GTA 5 installation so that it can read and activate custom script functions.

Download the zip file from the website, unpack it to your desktop, open the bin folder and drag the contents to the GTA 5 installation folder. The Native Trainer file is a small mod menu and is optional.

To access even more mods, you’ll also want to download Script Hook V Dot Net from this GitHub page.

On the site, download the zip file of the latest version and follow the same process as above to add the unzipped files to the game directory.

From there – the mod world is your fierce right now, but just read the documentation and scan your files with an antivirus program before installing anything just to be sure.

a fresh installation should clean your mods if you want to restore a clean version of GTA 5, but you can also remove certain mods you don’t need using the file management system.

It’s also worth remembering that some popular mods can be found off the GTA 5 Mods website, via Patreon websites, or other online mod hubs.

Then, after installing the mods you are interested in, just start the game from the launcher of your choice and enjoy them!
