How to Find Diamonds in Minecraft. Where to find diamonds in minecraft nintendo switch

You will need a few pickaxes (made of at least iron or higher), water buckets, good armor, food, and a sword or bow. Also bring lots of torches to light your way.

Tutorials/Diamonds

Diamonds are one of the most sought-after items in Minecraft due to their use in the manufacture of diamond and netherite tools, weapons and armor. Diamonds are also one of the rarest ores in Minecraft along with emeralds, lapis lazuli and ancient remains. This makes diamonds extremely difficult to find and severely limits the player’s diamond supply. This tutorial is designed to help players looking to earn, maintain and expand their diamond supply.

Going down to the deepest part of the dungeon (levels 10 to 12 are the best levels to find them in v1.17 and lower, in v1.18+ the best level is -59) to find diamonds the player must have an iron, diamond or netherrite pickaxe to mine diamonds (good the idea is to bring 2 or more if one breaks), food and torches to prevent mobs from appearing. In addition, a bucket of water to turn lava into obsidian and eliminate the burning state before falling into lava, a crafting table for creating mineral blocks and furnaces, a sword to fight mobs and a shovel to remove dirt and gravel and armor to reduce lava and monster damage.

Players can use a bucket to hold the lava or from nearby lava pools for good smelting, but if the bucket contains water, be sure to store the water in the hole before starting smelting. Water buckets are also good for extracting a lava pool.

The Fortune pickaxe increases the average diamonds received per level, while the Fortune III pickaxe collects an average of 2.2 (maximum 4) diamonds per ore.

Diamonds can be obtained from diamond ore, a rare find on approximately 0.0846% (~ 1 in 1,200) blocks at levels 5-16. Diamonds can be found anywhere below layer 16, but are most common in layers 5-12 in version 1.17.1 and below; in versions 1.18 they are expected to be most common between tiers -50 – -64. Most players find it through caves or mining.

To mine diamonds, a player needs an iron, diamond, or netherite pickaxe (as well as any gold, emerald, or redstone they find). While it may be tempting to use stone digging tools to save the durability of iron tools, remember that diamond ore does not drop diamonds when mined with a pickaxe out of wood, stone, or gold. Use an iron pickaxe (or better) in these low levels to get anything that looks unusual.

The player needs a supply of torches and wood for more sticks (he will probably find a lot of coal on the way). During caves, the player should bring normal supplies, especially armor and weapons.

Diamonds can sometimes be found in naturally generated chests and structures.

By spelunking

Spelunking (cave exploration) takes less time and less tools than mining, but is more dangerous as there may be monsters inside.

To locate diamond ore through caves, simply explore any cave by locating entrances on the surface or by digging and working your way down to level 15 or lower. In Java Edition, pressing F3 (debug screen) helps to check depth. In Bedrock Edition, there is a “show coordinates” setting for the game that does not count as a cheat. It is best to mine at level 11 or 12 as lava deposits mainly appear at level 10. A bucket of water can be useful for stopping the flow of lava.

Ravines and shafts can provide shortcuts to the deep; creating a waterfall can help players get down safely and back up. Finding underground lava pools is a good indicator of the correct depth range, but may not be the best place to find diamonds. The lava could have replaced part of the ore deposit, leaving fewer diamonds to be mined.

If the player sees exposed lumps of diamond ore near a lava pool, use a bucket of water to transform the surface of the pool into obsidian or cobblestone, then leave the area flooded while mining. Thus, if there is more lava underneath the diamond ore, the water can extinguish it before the lava destroys the newly mined diamonds).

If no diamonds are discovered after your time searching, don’t give up – diamonds are considered rare for a reason. Search for more caves on similar levels or go to the next method: mining or searching for village chests.

By Ocean

To do this, the player needs to have multiple water breathing and night vision potions. The oceans have many ravines that may contain many caves for exploration and may contain diamonds at the bottom. This is a cost effective way to find diamonds as many ores have already been discovered for you.

By TNT

Blowing up TNT is one of the fastest ways to mine, but it requires the player to kill a large number of vines in order to get gunpowder and get plenty of sand. Given the large amount of TNT, the player can blow up one at a time, detonate a large clump, or place a block every five meters. TNT drops 100% of its positions in Java editing, but this method is not possible in Bedrock editing.

How to Find Diamonds in Minecraft

Unlike iron, gold or netherite, you don’t have to smelt diamonds. Diamond ore blocks drop diamonds directly and you can quickly use them to create better items.

The first and most common method of finding diamond ore in Minecraft is to mine it. Since the game’s release, diamonds have spawned anywhere below the 16th tier. After years of exploring and testing, most players agree that you can find rich deposits of diamonds and veins between levels five and 12.

Of course, you don’t always have to mine diamonds. Ground or underwater exploration can also provide this valuable resource. Different crates may contain diamond blocks or bars in the following locations:

  • Shipwrecks
  • Fortresses
  • Villages
  • jungle and desert temples
  • Mining shaft
  • End city
  • The altars of the fortress

How to Find Diamonds in Minecraft Fast

Branch mining is the fastest way to get diamonds to create your first diamond tools and equipment. With any luck, you can hurry to find the iron and diamond on the first night, provided you get enough resources.

You will need a few pickaxes (made of at least iron or higher), water buckets, good armor, food, and a sword or bow. Also bring lots of torches to light your way.

Spells also make a big difference. If you can level your enchantment table to level 30, you can put a level 3 Fortune spell on your pickaxe. This will give you an extra chance to drop two diamond ores instead of one.

Required Materials to Mine

In Minecraft, these are the materials that you can use to mine:

In Minecraft, you can add items like diamonds to your inventory by mining diamond ore. So let’s get started!

1. Hold the Pickaxe

First you need to find a block of diamond ore to dig. Then you need to hold a diamond or iron pickaxe in your hand. They are the only tools strong enough to mine diamond ore.

For this example, we’re going to use a diamond pickaxe to mine diamond ore, so we’ve selected a diamond pickaxe in the quickbar.

2. Use the Pickaxe

Then put the pointer (plus sign) on the block of diamond ore you want to mine. You should see the block highlight in the game window.

The game controls for mining diamond ore depend on the version of Minecraft:

  • For Java version (PC / Mac), left-click and hold the block of diamond ore.
  • For Pocket Edition (PE), touch and hold a block of diamond ore.
  • For Xbox 360 and Xbox One, press and hold the RT button on the Xbox controller.
  • For PS3 and PS4, press and hold the R2 button on the PS controller.
  • For Wii U, press and hold the ZR button on the gamepad.
  • For Nintendo Switch, press and hold the ZR button on the controller.
  • In Windows 10 Edition, left-click and hold a block of diamond ore.
  • In the Educational Edition, left-click and hold a block of diamond ore.

You’ll have to keep digging until the block breaks and a diamond finally appears.

3. Pick up Mined Items

The diamond will float on the ground. Make sure you picked up the diamond before it disappears.

After picking up the diamond, it will appear on the shortcuts bar.

Diamonds are very useful items and should be kept in your inventory for later use.

It may take a while to find diamonds, but it’s definitely worth it. After earning diamonds, you can create an enchanting table to upgrade your inventory or upgrade to diamond inventory.

Dig down to diamond levels

While exploring caves and opening treasure chests, you can get some diamonds, but the best way to get them is to build your own diamond mine. It is a simple – but time-consuming – process.

Diamonds naturally occur between layers 1 and 16, but you can see them more often in layers 5 to 12. Rock bedding is considered layer 0, so you need to dig fairly deep before you can begin to see the sparkling blue rocks. If you need help figuring out which layer you are currently mining on, PC players can press F3 to display their current location. Console players will instead have to dig into the rock bed and then progress through the layers until they reach the desired height.

There are several different mining techniques you can use, but we recommend digging the stairs until you hit layer 12. When you are finished, dig a long horizontal corridor. From this main corridor, you can now dig perpendicular paths to maximize your potential for finding diamonds.

When you find diamonds, make sure you clear all surrounding blocks to see if others are nearby. Diamond veins usually spawn into diagonal patterns which means there are usually a little more hiding out of sight.

Prepare the right tools

To extract diamonds, you will use either an iron or diamond pickaxe. You’ll also want some extra ones in your inventory so you don’t have to stop mining when the first one breaks. Once you have stockpiled your diamonds, we suggest creating an Enchanting Table and making a Fortune pickaxe. You can upgrade the Fortune spell to get more resources while mining. The repair spell is also very useful as it helps to hold the pickaxe longer.

The player needs a supply of torches and wood for more sticks (he will probably find a lot of coal on the way). During caves, the player should bring normal supplies, especially armor and weapons.

How to Mine Diamonds in Minecraft

Before you start your adventure, know that you need the right tools to get the job done. To mine a diamond, you need an iron or a diamond pickaxe. Wood, stone, or a golden pickaxe won’t do the trick as you’ll just cut through the diamond ore and no diamonds will be produced. What a loss!

With an iron or diamond pickaxe in hand (and loads of torches), it’s time to look for diamonds. These are the different ways to find diamonds and diamond ore in Minecraft which include exploring caves, finding diamond levels, and searching chests to name just a few possible ways.

Find Diamond Level – Head to Layer 12

Diamonds.jpg

Diamond Ore often appears between layers 5-16, but most is in layer 12. To see which layer you are on, check the Y value on your map (F3 on PC and FN + F3 on Mac). It can be found in veins up to 8 blocks of ore. Lava often appears between tiers 4-10. To be on the safe side, stick above these layers. This way you will find Diamonds and you will be less likely to be burnt to crunch.

In short – Minecraft contains most of its diamonds in tier 12, but you need to keep your eyes peeled to see the lava flowing.

Explore caves

An effective (and fun) method of finding diamonds is to study cave systems. At times, the caves can be absolutely massive and it’s easy to spot DiamondOre with such high visibility. If there’s a lot of lava in your way, a bucket of water can be useful for creating easy paths.

Use the Staircase Method

Stairs.jpg

Since you should never dig straight down in Minecraft, the stair method is a great way to safely and efficiently get deep into the world. This is exactly what it sounds like: dig at a 45-degree angle, leaving a pattern of stairs behind. Dig one block deeper than the last one with each step. You’ll be able to get back to the surface by simply jumping back. The stairs cover a lot of earth and are a widely used method of finding diamonds and other minerals efficiently.

Use the Branch Mining Method

Branches.jpg

A very effective way to find Diamonds is by branching the mine. It involves covering a large area by making a 2×2 tunnel and digging out of it individual “branches” every third block. By doing this, you cover a large part of the terrain quickly without breaking any unnecessary blocks.

Use the Strip Mining Method

Dig.jpg

Extracting the belts is a lot less fun than it sounds. It involves the extraction of literally everything in search of rare ore. To dismantle a mine, get to the required layer (1-16 if you are looking for diamonds) and dig the outline of the box around you. This will leave you with a block of blocks in the middle. Just bring it out to create a large open space. This way you will surely find what you are looking for, but it is very time consuming. You will also get a lot of materials (especially cobblestone) and create a large recessed area!

Diamonds have been in Minecraft for over a decade. It is one of the most iconic items and is famous for its rarity. For a long time, diamond tools, armor, and weapons were the best in Minecraft.

Preparing to Find Diamonds

You will need the right supplies before you can start mining diamonds in Minecraft:

  • You need an iron, diamond or netite pickaxe to mine diamonds. Iron is common in the game, so making an iron pickaxe is fairly easy.
  • You will need a torch to illuminate your tunnels and explore the caves.
  • Eating is important as mining will starve you over time.
  • You will encounter mobs, so armor and weapons will come in handy.
  • the shovel comes in handy for removing dirt and gravel in your way.
  • Sticks are important in making more torches when mining coal.
  • Optional: a bucket of water is useful for turning lava into obsidian.
  • Optional: pickaxes enchanted in fortune will increase the amount of mined diamonds.

Going Underground

The diamond ore is only underground, between the “y-coordinates” of 1 to 15. The y-coordinate is the number of vertical blocks that appear at the very bottom of the map. Put simply, this means that diamonds are only found in the bottom 15 blocks of the world. You can see your current y-coordinate by pressing F3 on PC or by opening the map item in the game.

How to find diamonds in Minecraft with Y coordinates

PHOTO: Example of the F3 screen on PC Minecraft. The red box shows the x, y, and z coordinates, with “15” being my current y coordinate. Below this level, I will be able to find diamond ore.

Start digging underground and be careful not to dig straight down as you can easily get killed from a big fall or landing in lava. It is best to use a “stair” down method so that you can easily come back once extraction is complete. The best coordinate for mining diamonds in Minecraft is 11 or 12. I found these y coordinate levels to be the best for finding diamonds in Minecraft and avoiding annoying lava lakes.

If you’re lucky, diamonds can be found in chests in Abandoned Mine Shafts or villages. Due to the rarity of this event, do not rely on chests when hunting for diamonds.

2) Looting chests

Diamonds are part of the loot tables in many chests. If you are lucky, you can find some diamonds by looting chests within structures. Buried treasure chests have a 46.9% chance of having one diamond. Loot chests in the end cities, bastion remains, and shipwrecks also have the option to have diamonds.

1) Strip mining

One of the oldest mining strategies, strip mining continues to excel at finding diamond ores in Minecraft. In older versions, open pit mining at Altitude 11 yielded a lot of diamond ores. But nowadays you will have to mine around 55-60 Y to get the maximum amount of diamond ores. Due to the deep shale, opencast mining takes a long time, but it works like a charm.
