The Steam Gems are a holdover from the 2014 Steam Holiday Sale, but are still relevant today. The methods of obtaining them that were available during this sale are no longer available, but you can turn cards and other items from your Steam inventory into gems.

Steam trading cards were added to Terraria on 07/15/2013, shortly before the 1.2 update. These cards will be automatically credited during the game, assuming the player purchased the Steam version of the game. During the game, players will be dealt up to four cards. You can then get more cards from boosters that are randomly assigned or by purchasing them from other players. There is also a special Foil variant which is rarer but has no other advantages.

Steam Trading Cards can be used to create badges (and foil badges) that display on a player’s Steam Profile and increase their Steam Level. The player can also create emotes that can be used in Steam chat. Finally, they can be used to create backgrounds that the player can display on their profile. The player can also directly trade the items crafted.

What Are Steam Trading Cards?

Each Steam trading card is part of the set. Collect a full set of trading cards to receive rewards such as additional customization to your Steam profile. You can also sell them on the Steam Community Market with wallet funds, which you can then use to purchase on Steam.

There are also special foil trading cards. You can collect a set of foil cards and turn them into a foil badge for your Steam profile. Foil cards are like shiny Pokémon cards: they do not differ from the usual ones in terms of functions, but they are just rarer and therefore have a higher value.

How to Get Steam Trading Cards

The main way to get trading cards is by playing games on Steam. You can view a list of eligible games in the entire Store along with eligible games in your library. This is also available in the Steam client on the Badges page that appears under your username in the top menu.

You don’t actually have to play the game, just open it. Simply log into the game to get a trading card and the cards will be randomly deposited into your account. If you want to go out and do something else, you’ll still be able to get it.

In fact, there are ways to get Steam Trading Cards without launching the game. But where is the fun in that?

The only difference is the free games. For every $ 9 spent, you will be given the right to randomly draw a card.

When you quit the game and exit, you’ll be notified if you’ve received a trading card via Steam’s messaging system. The new message is marked with a green envelope in the upper right corner of the interface.
