Here’s an update to Fortnite’s anticipated return of the Shockwave Launcher.
You read that right – Kit’s Shockwave Launcher returns after a short stay in the vault. You can pick it up as in-game loot after fans vote to get it back. Sorry, Slots!

Fortnite registered the problem and kept the Shockwave Launcher for now. He will return later in the season as the community’s choice against the Takeaway Rift.
A new weapon may be on its way to Fortnite in an upcoming update. According to the images obtained from data mining, the proximity grenade launcher seems to be the next weapon.
How will this Proximity Grenade Launcher work?
Just following the name, this grenade launcher will not function the same as the one present in the game. Thanks to the new weapon, the shots from the launcher will be concentrated in one area. You will not be able to shoot wherever you aim the weapon, like with an ordinary grenade launcher.
According to data-miner @FireMonkeyFN, this weapon already has stats in the game files. Deals 70 base damage, holds two rockets, and has a reload time of 2.83 seconds. If these stats are correct, this weapon does not seem to be very powerful. However, we still need to see how the Proximity Launcher part will work.

- After adding and removing items, we noticed that Shield Potions and Small Shields were less available from Chests. So we’ve increased the chance of finding Shields from Chests to compensate for this.
- Overall drop chance from floor loot increased from 8.50% to 9.77
- After hearing community feedback on Shotgun availability, we’ve increased the availability of Floor Loot Shotguns to make them easier to find in the early game.
- Floor Loot availability increased from 0.067 percent to 0.15 percent
- Chest loot availability increased from 0.414 percent to 0.645 percent
- Loose loot availability has been reduced from 2.04 percent to 1.715 percent
- Loot availability in chests has been reduced from 12.47 percent to 10.46 percent
- Floor loot availability reduced from 0.59% to 0.46
- Reversing Storms has been changed to deal permanent damage instead of depending on which storm phase is currently active.
- Deals five damage every second.
- This change may not be available immediately at the time of release. It requires a server update and will become active at some point during the day.
- We noticed that with Scaling Damage, players stuck to their Storm in later matches, which resulted in unwanted effects. This change gives players more value in using it earlier in matches.
- In version 9.30 we are making changes to visual effects that will help improve readability.

- Pop-ups and messages have been added to the main menu to help players understand when their Xbox Live or PlayStation voice chat is prioritized over voice chat at a Fortnite event.
- These visuals only appear when someone on your team is active in Fortnite Party Voice Chat, and will not reappear unless you join another team.
- This is the answer for gamers looking for clues to various voice chat issues that have been related to voice chat prioritization in the Xbox Live / Playstation group.
The biggest feature of the Fortnite 9.21 update is, of course, the proximity grenade launcher. That being said, while this new weapon may be unique and sounds fun to use, we’d be surprised if it significantly took over the Battle Royale meta. As his arrows bounce and bow, this is a high skill level item and will be more of a luck and last resort choice in most situations. With that in mind, it’ll be exciting once you manage to get a critical takedown with it. As for Horde Rush, we can’t wait to see how this mode works. Horde-based concepts have been in Creative and Save the World for a while now, but this time we’ll be able to see how Epic handles the idea in Battle Royale.
Speaking of Creative and Save the World, Fortnite 9.21 is pretty thin on both of these modes. Apart from a few additional items and missions, there is nothing to talk about. However, given the major version update due next week, it is assumed that we will see more significant changes then. Overall, Fortnite 9.21 is on par with most small client updates. There are good things for players here, but the content doesn’t cover all modes.
