You have more than a few Minecraft multiplayer options; some of them require an internet connection, while you can play other methods offline and from the same room.

Regardless of how you want to create, we’re going to take a look at how to play Minecraft with your friends!

Note: We have included instructions for Minecraft Java Edition (JE) and Minecraft Bedrock Edition (BE).

Minecraft Multiplayer for Public Servers

Java Edition

Most Java players use public servers to connect with others. The servers are free to join and can be found on any of the many server listing sites, such as MinecraftServers.org (just search for “Minecraft Servers” in your web browser for more listing sites).

We’ve already covered a detailed guide on How to Join a Minecraft Server, but here’s a quick summary:

  1. Copy the IP address of the server you want to join. It will look something like this: “makeuseof.example.com”
  2. Go to the multiplayer screen in your Minecraft client. Click Add Server or Direct Connection.
  3. Paste the IP address into the box labeled Server Address.
  4. If you selected Add server in step 3, give the server a name and click Done, then double-click the server from the list or select it and select Join Server. If you selected Direct Connection, click Join Server.

Enjoy playing Minecraft with your friends!

Bedrock Edition

While your reach is narrower than Java Edition players, there are definitely public servers you can join to play Minecraft with your friends in Bedrock Edition.

  1. Launch Minecraft BE. Click Play and go to the Servers tab.
  2. You can choose from the list of recommended servers that have a large number of players and offer game modes such as Skywars, Build Battle, and more.
  3. You can also add another server by clicking Add Server.
  4. Enter the server name, IP address and port. Click Save to keep this server in bookmarks.

Everything is ready! Enjoy Minecraft multiplayer in Bedrock Edition.

If your friend uses a private server, be it from their own computer or through third-party hosting services, you’ll need the server’s IP address. Copy and paste it just like the address of the public server to join.

How to play Minecraft for free

How can I play Minecraft without buying it? How can I play Minecraft for free without downloading? If you’re asking yourself these questions, we’ve got all the answers you’re looking for right here.

You can play Minecraft for free in your web browser by going to classic.minecraft.net, without having to download or install anything. This free version is the original Minecraft Creative Mode from 2009, originally released as part of the 10th anniversary celebration but still fully playable.

After the level is automatically generated, you will receive a share link so that you can play with up to nine friends. From there, just create a username and hit start, then left click to place or extract blocks, right click to switch between them and navigate with WASD.

However, since it is the original Creative Mode from 2009, it contains all the game limitations of the time. There are no mobs at all, there are only 32 blocks to build and all the original bugs are still present. There doesn’t seem to be a save game option either, so if you close your tab you will lose all your retro games.

However, it must be remembered that this is a completely free game, intended as an anniversary novelty, and not a full-fledged platform for a sandbox game. It’s also a rare opportunity to see a live service game in its original, unpatched form, which is sure to cause a wave of nostalgia for those who played it right from the start.

Is there a Minecraft free trial?

If you want to play a full-blown Minecraft game, unlike the free anniversary version we just covered, you may be wondering if there’s a way to get a free trial of Minecraft.

We are happy to announce that, yes, there are several ways to get a free Minecraft trial. If you click on the free trial page on the Minecraft site, you’ll be able to review your options.

At the top of this page, the developers explain that a free trial of Bedrock (the major version of Minecraft) is available for Windows 10, Android, PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. There are also links on this page that lead to the respective storefronts.

If you scroll a little further down this page, you’ll see that there is also a free trial version of Java (a slightly simpler version of Minecraft) available as well. This particular free trial version is available on Windows, MacOS, and Linux PCs.

You’ll find blacksmiths, NPC quest masters offering unique daily and weekly quests, mystery boxes, game info, leaderboards and more.

SkyWars

Our take on the Skywars game mode – with the Angel of Death. Each player / team appears on their own island, and the goal is to be the last player or team alive. Kill players with weapons or knock them down. You will be rewarded with a soul for each kill. You can use souls to unlock multiple kits and perks to enhance your game experience.

In the classic mode of Murder Mystery, players take on the role of a murderer, detective or innocent. The murderer must be sneaky and try to kill as many people as possible without getting caught or killed. The detective and the innocent must work together to protect each other and try to find out who the murderer is.

Arcade Games

The Arcade Games Lobby offers a wide selection of fun and casual mini-games that are played in a fast-paced style. Surviving hordes of zombies, fighting an enemy team with swords or building the best storyline are just some of the things you can do in our unique Skill Games.

UHC Champions has Solo and Team modes where the Team mode has 3 players per team. Here, natural regeneration is turned off and you can only heal yourself with golden apples, potions and the heads of killed players.

This game mode includes custom crafting recipes and extras to help you survive in this hardcore world.

For those of you who don’t take the action into your own hands, the Minecraft games category has an observer mode for you where you will see that the entire Minecraft world has already been built and all you have to do is navigate the world and watch the players work Minecraft online here on our website.
