Three years into their first critically acclaimed Spidey project, and a 2020 sequel with Miles Morales has cemented their place at the top of the superhero genre, Insomniac Games is back for more.

God of War on PC Was Inevitable, But Several PlayStation Exclusives Are Questionable
The God of War PC port reaffirms Sony’s commitment to the platform, although a few first-hand games may not be making the same journey for a while.
The upcoming PC port of God of War 2018 could mark a significant moment in PlayStation’s long history. Now that one of Sony’s most critically acclaimed and commercially acclaimed games is making its way onto the platform, it’s hard to imagine it not following it. Over the past 18 months, the publisher has taken a number of important steps that have suggested it has become a reality, such as the acquisition of reputable porting experts Nixxes. The news this week that PlayStation has renamed its previously confusing PS Mobile label to better reflect its efforts on PC is just the latest evidence that points directly to Sony’s extended commitments.
In many ways, Santa Monica’s PC launch of God of War was almost guaranteed from the moment the publisher set it on the platform. The irritating tweets of Cory Barlog, which confirmed his approval of the idea a few years ago, further strengthened the overall sense of the inevitability of the topic. While no title is likely completely off the table when it comes to treating a port, there are still a few examples from PlayStation’s first party stable that are less likely than others.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart
If you believe the recent leak of the Nvidia database, exclusive PlayStation consoles built specifically for the PS5 will not be exempt from receiving a PC port. So far, the leak has accurately revealed a number of announcements, such as the re-release of God of War, meaning games of all kinds, such as Demon’s Souls and Returnal, could hit the platform in the near future. However, this does not guarantee that every game in the fledgling console library will be able to hit PC right away, due to some technical quirks in the PS5 hardware.
Since the announcement of the PS5, Sony has actively promoted SSD technology, which makes its latest console much faster than its predecessor. Software such as Insomniac Games’ Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, and its genius jumping pranks, were then built specifically with the PS5’s fast-charging capabilities in mind. When it comes to ports for such games, the fact that comparable mainframe SSDs are not as affordable or in widespread use could be an issue that prevents Ratchet and Clank from setting a course for the platform. What it might be saying is that in the Nvidia leak, there was an entry for the 2016 PS4 reboot of the duo in place of the latest adventure, which suggeststhat it can be used to overwhelm PC gamers for a while.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a direct continuation of the Game Boy title released in 1990, in which Spidey was once again framed for a crime, this time a bank robbery. To clear his name, the hero must complete a series of levels and defeat various bosses.

The Sinister Six is a direct sequel to 2000’s Game Boy Color Spider-Man, in which a network trader once again defeats a notorious legion of super villains. Players discover six different levels, each ending in a boss fight, before facing Doctor Octopus and saving Aunt May.
Batman: Arkham City
If you’re looking for games like Spider-Man, the Batman Arkham series should be your first stop. Batman: Arkham Asylum kicked off the trilogy and made superhero games fun again in 2009, but this sequel is most reminiscent of Peter Parker’s latest play.
This is because Arkham City takes place in an open world, um, city, not a more limited but still extremely detailed asylum for insane criminals. You can have a great time gliding around it, using the grappling hook to regain lost height, and then pouncing on unsuspecting criminals from above. Bats also has its own Spidey Sense counterpart, and he’s just as good – if not better – than Spidey at spending combos of punches, blocks, and counters.
Arkham City also features an excellent cast of gadgets and villains who will soon be defeated, as long as you can endure the move from Marvel to DC. Included are Catwoman, Oracle, Penguin, Joker, Harley Quinn and Two Face. All woven into a great story that’s as good as most superhero comics.
The main attraction of Marvel’s Spider-Man is the way you move. Much the same is true of Prototype. Instead of Peter Parker, you play as Alex Mercer – definitely a moody man who wakes up without remembering how he acquired his powerful shape-shifting abilities. From fight to move, Mercer boasts a list of moves as long as Spider-Man as he climbs vertically and leaps off skyscrapers with just as reckless resignation.
More good things: pack your bags for these open world games
Prototype even shares Spider-Man’s playground in New York, so if you squint while playing this 2009 version, you can even pretend it’s the same game. Almost. One of the features that distinguishes the Prototype as distinctly different are the massive blades of Mercer’s arms, thanks to which he is able to put his enemies in a kibosh. Also, don’t expect a hero as cheerful as Pete: Mercer is more of an anti-hero, to the point of actually serving as the big bad Prototype 2. The prototype could act as a template for a future Marvel Venom game. Here is hope.
Not to be confused with the Amiga game, The Amazing Spider-Man is a handheld game of the exact same name that was released for Game Boy in 1990. While the story was still focused on Peter Parker saving his kidnapped wife Mary Jane, the game was structured a bit differently.
Spider-Man and Captain America in Doctor Doom’s Revenge
Platforms: Amiga, Atari, Commodore 64, DOS
The next title, which will include a network robot, will be a side-scrolling action game released in 1989 for the Amiga, Atari and Commodore 64 systems. In it, the player switched between playing as Spider-Man and Captain America, when they both faced different villains from the rogue gallery of both heroes.
While critics excelled in the game’s repetitive combat, Doctor Doom’s Revenge was praised for its bright and colorful palette. One of the villains, a martial artist named Rattan, was created especially for the game. Finally, it was one of the few superhero games that featured an exclusive comic book in a game box that told about the events leading up to the game’s plot.
The Amazing Spider-Man
Platforms: Amiga, Atari, Commodore 64, DOS
In 1990, Spider-Man fans got another side-scrolling platformer in which the protagonist tried to save his wife, Mary Jane. In short, Mysterio has kidnapped her and now Spider-Man must track him down in a series of cinematic levels inspired by Mysterio’s passion for cinema.
The animations were terrible, the controls were even worse, and the gameplay left a lot to be desired. The amazing Spider-Man took off on the Amiga, but was eventually ported to other systems.
While the main antagonists were HYDRA and the New Enforcers, Web of Fire also features many enemies that are not found in other Spider-Man games. Despite poor sales, the game has gained popularity over the years.

Ultimately, the answer is no. As stated in the tweet below, Insomniac has confirmed that it will only be available on PS5, excluding a PS4 launch. This is not particularly surprising as by the time Spider-Man 2 is released in 2023, there is a good chance that Sony will give up making games for the last generation console.
No. Sony bought Insomniac Games in 2019 and incorporated them into PlayStation Studios, which means that any future titles will surely omit Microsoft’s consoles. As such, don’t expect to see Spider-Man 2 on Xbox One or Xbox Series X | S.
Is Spider-Man 2 Coming To PC?
At the moment, the only confirmed Spider-Man 2 Insomniac will arrive on PS5. It’s worth noting, however, that Sony has recently made a stronger push towards PC gaming with the acquisition of Nixxes Software’s PC portability studio.
So far, we’ve seen them bring Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone, Predator: Hunting Grounds, and the upcoming Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves collection to PCs, so while it’s not currently confirmed, Spider-Man 2 could finally make the leap. If this happens, we will keep you informed.
The end result was an over-the-top 3D action game that was ported to almost every home console available at the time. Critics focused on the game’s youthful history, neat controls and poor graphics.
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions
At the time, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions looked like a regression from the open-world Spider-Man franchise that came before. But in a world where the multiverse plays such a huge role in the MCU, Into the Spider-Verse, and the general collective consciousness, it’s worth revisiting. Instead of the amazing Spider-Man itself, players can also play as Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Man 2099, and Ultimate Spider-Man. Shattered Dimensions restricts players to linear levels with different goals, but the rotating perspectives between four different Spider-Man players create something unique and unforgettable even 11 years later.
While it is available on more modern consoles such as the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the game is not available in any online markets after Activision’s Spider-Man license expires. You’ll need a disc to play this on a PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, or Windows.

The first batch of Insomniac with Spider-Man is as extensive as any Spider-Man fan could wish for. It’s full of spiders-gadgets that draw on the experience of the creators of the cartoon-blasting Ratchet & Clank. It has a responsive combat that should be familiar to most beat-’em-up fans, and an open-world swing that eventually eclipsed Spider-Man 2. It also tells a unique story that manages to find its own place in the Spider-Man Games legion and spin -offs. It’s big and long and also the perfect game to keep you busy if you want to dig Spider-Man.
Marvel’s Spider-Man is only available on PlayStation 4 with PlayStation 5 backward compatibility. If you purchase the Ultimate Edition of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales for PlayStation 5, you will get it with Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered for PlayStation 5.
Other Marvel heroes appeared in the form of improvements that would help the player grow. Separation Anxiety wasn’t as successful as the first game, with critics citing its misleading title and general lack of gameplay tweaks.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 trailers
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was first revealed at the Sony PlayStation Showcase in 2021. The opening trailer gave us a glimpse of Peter Parker and Miles Morales in action together, with Venom joining the fight last.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Spider-Man game without the last minute man, Peter Parker. Players will reprise their role as the Spider in the sequel to Insomniac, taking on the role of the friendly hero next door. Although he will not be alone.
This time around, Miles Morales will join Parker as the two fight together in “the most epic single-player adventure.”
Venom also made a brief appearance in the reveal trailer, although it is unknown which side he might be on for now. We do know, however, that he is voiced by the horror icon Tony Todd.
Venom is set to appear for the first time in an upcoming sequel.
A popular antihero can be a villain, a not-so-friendly ally in a larger battle, and maybe even a mix of both throughout the game.
We just have to wait and see who else joins the cast, although fans already believe that one particular name could be a blocker. Kraven the Hunter may have been an ominous voice during the trailer reveal, so we can already have our final villain in the spotlight.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 gameplay details
While no gameplay has yet to be revealed, early reports suggested that one big change might already be blocked in Spider-Man 2.
Symbiote Powered Suits can be set to change Spidey’s gear set in the Sequel.
Outfits are key to unique abilities, both in combat and in traversing. The sequel is sure to introduce a lot of new Spidey costumes for both Peter and Miles, though another layer of depth may be on the way.
According to FandomWire, each suit will reportedly have a “symbiote variant version”. In this way, our heroes use the powers of Venom’s symbiotes to their advantage. As a result, dozens of unique powers can be in the game to mix things up like never before.
