Microsoft Rewards Review: Worth Your Time?
Microsoft Rewards is a free program that pays loyal Microsoft users to complete online tasks using Microsoft products and services. Many people found the program useful for paying for participation in popular features at reduced cost or for free.
This Microsoft Rewards program gives you an overview of the details of the program, how you can use it to earn money, the benefits and disadvantages of participating, and if it is anything you should consider.
What is the Microsoft Rewards Program?
As mentioned in the introduction to this review, Microsoft Rewards is a free program that rewards users of Microsoft products.
In particular, the program allows you to earn points by searching on the corporate Bing search engine, ordering products through the Microsoft Store online and the Windows 10 operating system, as well as by completing specific surveys, tasks and activities.
There are no obligations or fees for participation. Rather, the program is included in your Microsoft account and only requires you to sign up, stay signed in, and participate in the essentials required to earn points.
Plain and Simple – This is a customer rewards program that encourages Microsoft customers to stay in its ecosystem. If a customer uses Microsoft products frequently enough, it could result in free Xbox Live Gold members, Xbox Game Pass, or possibly a new product called Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
The latter service combines Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass into a single monthly subscription of $ 14.99 / month, and gives you $ 5 / month less than what is currently available separately.
However, if you purchase the annual Live Gold membership while using your Xbox Game Pass month-to-month subscription, this combination will be cheaper if you buy the Gold membership on sale. This package only saves money for people who pay for both services on a month-to-month basis at the full price.
Invest, manage and plan your money with confidence.

The more you play, the more you earn. Discover new games on the platform by visiting your mix list, selecting a game and start earning points! You can level up to earn points faster, which makes it easier to get more cash quickly.
What can you earn with Microsoft Rewards?
As you go through our tutorial, keep an eye on the reward: a monthly Game Pass for PC is 7,000 points. You can pay 5,000 points for a $ 5 Microsoft Gift Card, but can only be applied to games, apps, movies / TV shows, or devices like Surface or Xbox, not Game Pass.
Just some of the things you can redeem for Microsoft Rewards points
But the Microsoft Rewards exchange page offers a lot of possibilities: Microsoft gift cards and Game Pass subscriptions, including Game Pass Ultimate; gift cards for retailers such as Amazon, Target, REI, Sephora, and Walmart; gastronomic offers in Starbucks, Burger King, Dominos, UberEats, DoorDash and GrubHub. You can even donate your points (and their monetary value) to the World Wildlife Foundation, Girls Who Code, the American Red Cross, The Trevor Project, and more. Microsoft often “pays” you points to double your donation.
Here is a small representative sample:
- $ 5 Amazon Gift Card: 5,250 points
- Microsoft Gift Card worth $ 10: 10,000 points
- Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (1 month): 12,000 points
- $ 15 DoorDash gift card: 19,500 points
You can even wager points, in games like “Pick Three” or “Whack-a-Pinata” with a chance of $ 250,000, 500 Xbox One S or other 300-point breakout prizes.
Microsoft has an odd tier system that offers discounts when you go from level 1 (at 500 points or less) to level 2. This means you will spend even less on “buying” what you want with Rewards points when you earn more throughout the month.
Using Microsoft Rewards for PC (and mobile)
There is one prerequisite: Microsoft Rewards requires a Microsoft account. You will likely need to sign in to your account when visiting the Microsoft Rewards introduction page. Quickly click on the Microsoft Rewards Dashboard (image at the top of this story) to open the door to free stuff. If you’re signed in and signed in, Microsoft Rewards points will be automatically accumulated – you don’t need to do anything else.
Microsoft gives you Rewards points for searching on your computer and mobile device…
There are two great ways to earn Microsoft Rewards on your computer: searching with Bing and taking fun quizzes. Every day, Microsoft will “pay” you up to 150 points for searching Bing on your computer, up to 5 points for searching. If you search Bing on your smartphone, you can earn 100 points more (5 points for searching). Using the robust Microsoft Edge browser also gives you a bonus of up to 20 points.
(“But that means I have to use Bing,” some of you may be moaning. I’m a heavy Bing user; I switched to Bing in 2017, back to Chrome when Bing fell hard; and back to Bing in the past About a year after Microsoft fixed the issues with Bing. You can still use Google in no time.)
… And by completing quizzes.
In effect, doing nothing more than using Edge and Bing to search on your computer (30 days x 150 points, a year 30 days x 20 points = 5100 points) will get you the equivalent of $ 5 a month without any extra effort on your part.
If you want, you can also gamify this process. Every day, Microsoft offers three options: a daily set of quiz, poll, and fact. Clicking on each of them usually gives you an extra 50 points per day. Microsoft will also add bonus points for three consecutive days of exercising daily sets, such as 45 points for a three-day streak. If you miss a day, your daily streak will be reset. But don’t feel bad as some of your quizzes will automatically be archived lower down the dashboard.
If you keep up with your “Daily Sets”, the 1,500 points you get plus 5,100 search points will bring you closer to our 7,000 point goal. Add this to the bonuses that should give you a value or very close to 7000. Victory! But why stop there?
If one area is omitted from Microsoft Rewards, it’s earning points for playing computer games – something we’ll talk about in the next section. But you can also earn Rewards points for purchasing them using real cash. For example, in August 2020, Microsoft offered 5,000 points for spending $ 50 on game purchases. And if you rent or buy any three movies in August, you could earn another 2,500. Keep that in mind if you are considering renting a movie online.
Microsoft Rewards offers valuable benefits to regular Microsoft product users. The program is used to build an ecosystem of products and maintain customer loyalty.
How To Earn Points
Xbox Game Pass Tasks
For Xbox Game Pass tasks, you can find them in the Xbox Game Pass section on Xbox, the games section of your profile page, or the Xbox Game Pass mobile app. There you will find sections with daily, weekly and monthly tasks that reward Microsoft Reward points. Many quests focus on playing Game Pass games and earning achievements in Game Pass games, including games you own that are also in Game Pass. One of the static daily tasks is to launch any Game Pass game that earns you five points. Some of the monthly tasks are based on completing a certain number of daily and weekly tasks over the course of a month.
There are also missions to complete specific tasks in the games available with Xbox Game Pass. Some examples are earning five items in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard or killing two enemies in We Happy Few, with both quests earning 75 points. These quests will have to be surrendered upon completion, and this can be done from the Xbox Game Pass rewards menu or by opening the system notification that appears after completing the quest. Missions do not need to be activated before they are completed.
Xbox users also earn 20 Reward points for every dollar spent on digital games. Additional offers are also available in the Microsoft Rewards app for Xbox. Some of them offer bonus points for earning achievements in new releases. Additionally, there are bonus offers for purchasing new games that can give you up to 6,000 extra reward points. Unlike the Xbox Game Pass Quests, these offers must be activated to complete them.
How to Redeem Points
Microsoft Rewards redemption page
The Microsoft Rewards app is also a place where you can redeem your points. There are three categories of redeemable items: buy, play to win, and donate. In the Store category, you can redeem points for Xbox Gift Cards, Xbox Live Gold subscriptions, and even Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions. You can also get digital gift cards from many places, such as Uber Eats, Starbucks, and Taco Bell. You can also set up automatic redemption of your Xbox Gift Card, which will automatically spend your points at the beginning of each month – if you have enough – to your Xbox Gift Card at a small discount.
The “Play to Win” category includes many lotteries where you can spend points to enter. Prizes range from custom Xbox Series X consoles to 400,000 in Microsoft gift cards if you win. In the donation section, you can use your reward points to donate money to various charities such as the World Wildlife Fund, Girls Who Code and AbleGamers Foundation.
in total, this adds up to a maximum of 9,600 points per month, assuming no money is spent at the Microsoft Store. When you compare the conversion rate up front, that’s $ 9.60 per month.
Microsoft finally releases Android 11 for the original Surface Duo
After a very long wait, the original Surface Duo may now receive an operating system update to Android 11.
You earn 5 points for each search on Bing. Earnings within the program’s tier 1 cap at 50 points per day or 10 Bing searches. However, level 2 provides more room for potential earnings.
How to join the Microsoft Rewards program?
By collecting Microsoft Reward points, you can use them to make great gifts. You can purchase Walmart, Xbox Gold, Xbox Ultimate Membership, and Robux gift cards with your Bonus Points. In addition, people can make charitable donations for those in need. To start collecting Microsoft Rewards points, you need to open a Microsoft Rewards account. You can create it with this link.

By regularly conducting a Bing search, you can generate 5 points a day. You can earn 150 points per month if you are a Tier 1 member. However, if you are a tier 2 member, you can generate 20 points per day. In other words, you can earn 600 points every month.
Daily Sets
To collect points, when you sign in to the Microsoft Rewards website, you will see many quizzes and surveys in which you will receive Microsoft Rewards points. Each of them gives you 10 points. If Xbox owners complete three tasks, they can receive series rewards. The streak reward gives players extra points for their continuity. When people finish their daily sets every day, they can gain 30-60 points a day plus the bonus.
Microsoft Store Purchase

Refer a friend

It’s Never Been Easier to Earn Free Microsoft Gift Cards via Microsoft Rewards
Advertiser Disclosure: At Slickdeals, we work hard to find the best deals. Some of the products in our articles are sourced from partners who may compensate us, but this does not change our opinion.
Microsoft offers $ 5 free Microsoft Store Gift Cards to Microsoft Rewards members who can earn a minimum of 4,000 Rewards points before February 2 or while supplies last. This free program is technically always available to rewards program members but usually requires 5,000 points to redeem it, making this incentive a 20% discount .
If you’ve already participated in the Microsoft Rewards ecosystem, chances are good you’re on your way to collecting 4,000 points. Assuming that is the case, you can try a slightly more free $ 10 Microsoft Store Gift Card, which requires 8,000 points. Note that this is also a 20% discount bonus from the usual 10,000 point requirement.
These gift cards will be valid for three months after they are added to your account. You can use gift cards to buy various Xbox games, devices, and other accessories from the Microsoft Store. According to the SeepyFluid user, the last gift card sale was in July, so if you’re interested, you’d better grab that rewards deal before it disappears again.
While February 2 is fast approaching, the good news is that you can sign up for Microsoft Rewards today and start earning Rewards points for free. If you’re just enrolling in the rewards program, reaching 4,000 points in the next few weeks may be difficult, but it’s still a good idea to start saving for your next redemption incentive. You can already earn 500 points by simply installing Bing on your phone and an additional 2,500 points if you buy or rent movies this month.
What Is Microsoft Rewards and How Does It Work?
Microsoft Rewards is a free loyalty program that gives you Rewards points for using Microsoft products and services. You can redeem points for a variety of things, including raffle shares, gaming passes, apps, movie rentals, gift cards, and even charitable donations.
To sign up for Microsoft Rewards:
- Go to the Microsoft Rewards home page and click “Sign up for free.”
- You’ll be prompted to sign in to your Microsoft account (or create a new account if you don’t already have one). If you have an Xbox Live account, please use the same credentials here.
- Answer the questions that arise about your Microsoft product preferences and awards, and then you’re good to go.
How Do You Earn Points?
Once your account is set up, there are many ways to earn Microsoft Rewards points, including:
- Search Using Microsoft Search Engines: Getting and receiving awards can be as easy as changing your default search engine. The most popular way to earn Microsoft Rewards points is to search using the Bing search engine. However, using Bing, Microsoft Edge, Cortana, or Windows Search Box may also generate points, but you are limited by daily and monthly limits on the number of points you can earn for searching.
- Buy from the Microsoft Store: You earn points for purchases made from the Microsoft Store, as long as you are signed in to your Microsoft account when making the purchase. For Tier 1 members, every dollar spent is equal to one Rewards point, although Tier 2 members earn 10 points for every dollar spent. Additionally, if you’re a Tier 2 member with Xbox Live Gold, you’ll get an extra 10 points per dollar (20 points total).
- Take Quizzes and Surveys: The Microsoft Rewards website is filled with silly quizzes and surveys that you can complete to earn points. These daily kits will typically be worth 30-40 points each and cover a variety of categories such as history, pop culture, and current events. Even if trivia is not your thing, you usually get points no matter how many correct answers you give, so just keep clicking for easy earnings.
- Take a look at Microsoft promotional material: Microsoft encourages you to read specific articles on its corporate blog, watch featured videos, and engage with other pieces of promotional material. Check the Microsoft Rewards home page to see which content is eligible. While these are usually only worth 10-20 points each, you get points the moment you click, so most of them require almost no time investment to redeem them.
It may take a while to collect Microsoft Rewards points, but it’s one of the easier ways to earn a new Xbox game! Microsoft will periodically offer special promotions to earn bonus points, so check your account regularly to make sure you catch all the best deals.
What’s the Difference Between Level 1 and Level 2 Rewards?
When you register for a Microsoft Rewards account for the first time, you’ll be at Tier 1. To reach Tier 2, you need to earn 500 points within one month; then you stay at level 2 as long as you are still earning at least 500 points per month.
Microsoft Rewards is a free loyalty program that gives you Rewards points for using Microsoft products and services. You can redeem points for a variety of things, including raffle shares, gaming passes, apps, movie rentals, gift cards, and even charitable donations.
