Ruined King: A League of Legends Story review – A game that re-invents the genre

Ruined King: A League of Legends Story is the latest RPG game developed by Airship Syndicate and published by Riot Forge.

Ruined King was officially released on November 16, 2021 following the Riot Forge show on their Twitch channel. While a release date was never mentioned, fans have not complained about the unexpected release of one of the year’s most anticipated games.

The Ruined King has been a subject of discussion since the announcement of the game. The Keepers of Light event in League of Legends further deepened the need for this game, especially for knowledge fanatics.

The game was advertised as the one that would buy back Riot Games when it comes to storytelling. However, Ruined King seems to have presented himself in style as the game has shown tremendous consistency in terms of lore across the League of Legends universe.

However, Ruined King offers more than just knowledge. It offers a very unique approach to RPGs that sets it apart from other popular titles on the market. Narration, gameplay, combat, item crafting are all well integrated into the game’s framework.

Ruined King: A League of Legends Story provides a very unique take on the RPG genre

Ruined King provides everything League of Legends fans have ever wanted. A game that holds deep knowledge while still providing a way for their favorite characters to feel alive.

This ensures that none of the characters in the game will ever feel forced and that they are well integrated into the narrative. Ruined King’s narrative is mainly realized through dialogues as well as films.

Blessed with massive biceps and a huge heart, Braum is the beloved hero of the Freljord. Carrying an enchanted vault door as a shield, Braum came on a mission to help his people but responded to the call to help Bilgewater as the true friend he is. ❤️

The videos focus primarily on linking the key points of the story, while the dialogues provide context to the current status of the characters in the game. However, neither of the dialogs are detached from the cutscenes as there is a flow of how both are placed one by one.

There may be times when a character talks about an incident while another asks for the cause. In such a scenario, the cinematograph will play in which the past is explained before returning to the present.

Even then, the return to diving is kept as smooth as possible so that the flow of history is never lost. This is arguably one of the highlights of the Ruined King as this flow holds the players in all the moments of the game.

Videos and dialogue play a key role in keeping the flow of narrative intact (Image via Ruined King: A League of Legends Story)

However, keeping the narrative fluid isn’t enough if the core game content isn’t solid. Airship Syndicate had this idea in mind because lore, gameplay, and combat ensure that there aren’t any gaps for players to exploit.

However, just mentioning these three essential characteristics is not enough as there is so much more to be discussed.

The four main games of League of Legends are League of Legends (original), Teamfight Tactics, League of Legends: Wild Rift, and Legends of Runeterra. They all work on a variety of devices but are all free to download.

A fun, surprisingly addictive freemium multiplayer online battle arena game

MOBAs or online multiplayer battle arena games are the type of games that get surprisingly out of the radar for the type of game that is really damn big.

League of Legends, Riot Games’ most famous offering and the largest MOBA in the world, is a top-notch and extremely popular option when it comes to esports, a competitive gaming world.

While you may not be thinking about playing it professionally (yet), you may think about giving it a try. Be warned, League of Legends (or LOL as you know for short) is not a mindless shooter. This is a highly strategic battle arena game where you take on other online opponents and you have to use your strengths and weaknesses to make them lose.

LOL offers 3 game modes that are actually battlegrounds that are approached in a slightly different way. Known collectively as The Fields of Justice, you can choose from Summoner’s Rift, The Twisted Treeline, and Howling Abyss. All modes involve joining a team of other online players and then taking on other similar teams. One of the most popular formations is the 5v5 setting and the lane battlefield layout where you are limited to a certain progression in the game.

Depending on your internet speed, it may take a while to start working. First you need to create an account, then download the installer, install the game client, and so on. Once set up, it is a little daunting, as LOL himself admits. Each game requires a steep learning curve, with specific terminology, distinct gameplay, and lots of elements. There is an introductory video that will walk you through from the very beginning. We don’t think you will become an expert once you see it, but in the LOL world, every little thing helps!

The gameplay is fast and crazy. Your hero will have a specific fighting style and, in combination with the rest of your party and their strengths, will try to reach the enemy base and destroy their Nexus, which is the source of their evil minions. It’s quite complicated and takes time to get used to, let alone improve, but ultimately the only way to truly improve is to play it.

Your character or champion will have distinct strengths and weaknesses and will level up (become a champion) by playing and killing enemies or purchasing items in the store with the money or cash won in the real world. There are a limited number of heroes available in the free game, but a nice feature is that the selection of 10 heroes is rotating, so even if you never pay, you’ll still see new options if you wait. A total of 117 Heroes are available at the time of writing.

League of Legends is a classic game that has not lost any of its original charm or popularity. The MOBA world is very different and a little bit of getting used to, but has earned himself more than one unsuspecting noob. Try it and who knows? Maybe you’ll be next!

Where can you run this program?

League of Legends is available for Windows and Mac.

Sure, there are many alternatives, although LOL is considered by many to be the original and the best. If you’re looking for alternatives, check out Dota 2, which is very similar, or Heroes of the Storm, which looks good but offers shorter matches (plus, as LOL can be a flood in real time!). There is also Awesomenauts, which is simpler than LOL, or Dark Souls 3, which is equally complex but equally classic and popular with a completely different group of players.

You can buy and download Ruined King to your PC from Steam or the Epic Games Store. You can also purchase it for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 or Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S from the respective application store for each system.

League of Legends MMO regions

Second, it’s only when the game is released that we’ll be able to explore across Runeterra as the MMO collapses. Fortunately, Riot has worked hard to make League of Legends as rich as it gets, with many famous regions.

In fact, there are thirteen named areas that Riot currently selects heroes from. We’ll likely see the same regions being selected for the new MMO title.

Major regions can be more “civilized” areas like Demacia, Noxus or Piltover, while fantastic regions like Bilgewater, Shurima and lovely Bandle City can also be important to online play.

These are all thirteen regions of Runeterra:

Riot Games may choose to start with just some of them – they picked only eight as “card regions” for Legends of Runeterra – but we’d expect them to eventually add all of League of Legends’ iconic areas to their planned online game.

There are tons of fantastic places in the world of League of Legends that MMOs can discover.

League MMO’s game map

There is no official confirmation that League of Legends MMO will copy Runeterra exactly, but we’d be very surprised if it didn’t. This means that players will be able to navigate a huge fantasy land by fast travel or simply by traversing lands and regions.

Here’s what the League of Legends MMO map might look like in-game:

[Update] Ruined King: A League of Legends Story released!

Well, it’s happening so fast these days: a few hours ago we were discussing whether we would soon have any information about Ruined King: A League of Legends Story’s release date or not. And suddenly Riot Forge just releases the game during an event. This is one way to do it. I guess. In any case, the RPG adventure game is now available on all platforms. So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and have an amazing adventure!

Recently, Riot Forge posted on Twitter that Pyke had stolen their password. So there was an “obvious” reason why the distributor had a month-long radio silence, but we finally have more news.

Riot Forge is launching a Ziggs rhythm runner in Piltover, not the game we were expecting, but one we’re excited to play nonetheless. But that still doesn’t answer the question we’re smoking to know the answer: When will we finally get Ruined King: A League of Legends Story?

Well my friends, it may come out soon.

Free Champion Rotation

This week’s Free Hero Rotation will apply – once again – to all Arcane characters. Vi, Caitlyn, Jayce, Jinx and other characters are available for free in League of Legends. But the list this week is much, much longer.

Braum, Illaoi, Pyke, Miss Fortune, Ahri, and Yasuo can also play for free. Is it a coincidence that these champions are also able to play for free this week? No. This could be a huge hint that this long-awaited game will be released much earlier than we thought after this tweet, “Pyke has stolen the password.

In addition, Ziggs is another hero that is free to play and as we mentioned, his own Riot Forge game will also be released.

League of Legends is a classic game that has not lost any of its original charm or popularity. The MOBA world is very different and a little bit of getting used to, but has earned himself more than one unsuspecting noob. Try it and who knows? Maybe you’ll be next!

The aftermath of Arcane

Having such success with Arcane led to quite a big problem – it created a whole new audience hunting for League of Legends content. Many viewers have tried the game, but for newcomers it is almost unbeatable. Its community of 8 million daily users mastered the game many years ago.

Moreover, the League of Legends community is not known to be hospitable. As recently pointed out after deleting global chat, toxicity is widespread.

This is the biggest reason new players need a friendlier starting point where they can continue to chew on the franchise’s deep knowledge without being chewed up by other players.

A more welcoming League of Legends

Riot Games knows it well, and that’s why it created Riot Forge in 2019. Forge is the label whereby Riot brought in some of the most talented studios to create League of Legends “stories”. These stories are spin-offs and prequels similar to the ones Disney and LucasFilm have built for the new Star Wars fictional deal, although they all hope to get better and faster.

This branch of A League of Legends Story clearly highlights Riot Games’ efforts to capitalize on the cross-media emphasis that started (but not limited to) with Arcane, building in just a few years a library consisting of the action RPG Ruined King, the rhythm game Hextech Mayhem , Project L brawl, based on the Song of Nunu storyline from Rime and more. Not to mention LoL itself, Legends of Runeterra, Teamfight Tactics, and Valorant, which – along with recent crossovers from the likes of Fortnite and PUBG Mobile – make it clear how big League of Legends as a brand is and what it is striving for getting out of its niche.

This week’s Free Hero Rotation will apply – once again – to all Arcane characters. Vi, Caitlyn, Jayce, Jinx and other characters are available for free in League of Legends. But the list this week is much, much longer.

How to download Legends of Runeterra

Legends of Runeterra is a League of Legends digital card game similar to other digital card games like Hearthstone. Almost all Classic League heroes are available as in-game cards, each with a unique special ability.

Quick Tip: Like other League games, you can unlock all cards in Legends of Runeterra without paying any money. But spending the immediate purchase of the best cards is without a doubt the best strategy if you want the strongest decks.

Uniquely, Legends of Runeterra is only available on Windows PCs, iPhones, iPads, and Android devices. Mac users will need to download a different device.

To download Legends of Runeterra on your computer:

1. Go to the Legends official website and click Play Now.

2. Create a Riot Games account or log in to your existing account.

3. On the Access Granted page, click Download Now and save the installation file to your computer.

4. Open the file and install Legends of Runeterra on your computer, then open it and log into your Riot Games account. You may need to install some updates the first time you open the app.

You can start playing right away.

If you prefer to play on a mobile device, you can download Legends of Runeterra for your iPhone or iPad from the Apple App Store, or for your Android device from the Google Play Store.

How to download other League of Legends games

There are a few more of the League’s smaller spin-offs. They are all tagged as “League of Legends History” and follow specific League characters in single player adventures. All of these games also cost money to buy and download.

At the time of writing, there are two games available: Ruined King and Hextech Mayhem. Two more – Convergence and Song of Nunu – are on the way, along with the League of Legends brawl, now codenamed Project L.

You can buy and download Ruined King to your PC from Steam or the Epic Games Store. You can also purchase it for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 or Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S from the respective application store for each system.

You can also buy and download Hextech Mayhem on your PC from Steam or the Epic Games Store. It’s also available on the Nintendo Switch eShop and is apparently coming to the Netflix mobile app soon.

Quick Tip: Riot Games is also making Valorant, a first-person shooter that blends modern shooting with League-style magic spells. It’s completely separate from other Riot games, but still free. Windows users can download it from the official Valorant website.
