Fortnite is a video game that gets more and more loyal fans every day. You can test yourself in this Fortnite quiz!

What’s Fortnite?

Some of this information may help you get a better score in this Fortnite quiz, so read carefully!

As I wrote above, Fortnite is an online video game, released on July 25, 2017 by the US video game development and software company Epic Games. You might think this company is only known for developing Fortnite. You’re wrong! They have developed many other great games such as Gears of War and Infinity Blade. Epic Games was founded in 1991 under the former name of Potomac Computer Systems.

Fortnite consists of 3 game modes: Save the World, Creative, and Battle Royale. The latter is the most popular game mode, and in this quiz we will be asking questions mostly about Battle Royale. There are also some questions for other game modes, so you need to be very knowledgeable about the game to get a perfect quiz score! Battle Royale is a player versus player (PvP) game mode where up to 100 players can start the game and try their luck and skill to defeat opponents and win the game. You can play solo, duo, and even with the entire team if you want. Fortnite is a great game to play with your friends!

Fortnite is not yet an established esport, but it is now possible to become a player in the professional scene. Team Secret announced that they have signed the Fortnite four-man squad. Moreover, one of the players is only 13 years old.

Tencent to invest $15 million in Fortnite esports in China

“Our guess is that Epic Games will also make an announcement and step into the esports scene,” said Team Secret CEO John Yao. “And yeah, before all the others jump in and all the good players are signed in, we wanted to do a preemptive strike.”

Fortnite, for those who aren’t aware, is arguably the hottest game in the world right now. Originally released in July, it quickly caught the attention of millions including the likes of Drake. Last weekend, Drake’s teammate Tyler “Ninja” Blevins broadcast Fortnite from Las Vegas to 667,000 viewers on Twitch.

“When a game becomes popular enough, generally everyone is trying to get into esports as they want to justify the competitive nature of the game,” said Yao. “And Fortnite is competitive, and I think there’s a lot of room for it to rise on stage.”

After extensive searches in Europe and North America, Team Secret decided on an already established group of four, with two players from Norway, one from Latvia and one from Great Britain.

Little did Yao know that Kyle “Mongraal” Jackson, a UK player, was much younger than his 21, 20 and 17-year-old teammates.

“Actually, I had no idea he was 13 until the team told me,” said Yao. “Because when we looked at some of the movies and looked at their play, it wasn’t obvious. I immediately saw how mature he was and sounded like one of the other guys.”

Mongraal, who lives in Sidcup on the outskirts of London, has been a player since the age of 9 when he started playing Call of Duty. He started playing Fortnite last fall.

“My friends told me about this new game, Fortnite, so I tried it to see what it was like,” said Jackson. “And I just fell in love – building mechanisms, how big is the skill gap in building is just unrealistic.”

He found his teammates online – they never met in person – and the four of them played well enough to become pros quickly.

“They have the potential to be the best team in the world,” said Yao. “Their communication and teamwork are really mature for a game that doesn’t have a professional scene. Some of our professional players actually watched broadcasts and videos of their game and in-game communication and said, “Wow, these guys are already acting like professional players.”

This includes Jackson, of course. But given his age, he needed to get parental consent before signing for Team Secret.

“This is a great opportunity for me, I sat them down and explained anything that could happen,” said Jackson. “I have discussed it thoroughly with them and they are very supportive of everything.”

One of the worrying areas is the potential age restriction if and when Epic launches the professional Fortnite league. For example, in the recently launched Overwatch League, players cannot compete until they turn 18.

“It worries me a bit,” said Yao. “But even if they have these restrictions at the publisher level, there will be tournaments with no age limit.”

In the meantime, before a formal league is established, the new Fortnite Team Secret will be playing multiple matches and participating in emerging tournaments.

And Jackson will still go to school. “I’m very interested in astrophysics,” he said. “My dream when I was younger was to become an astrophysicist. I just find the space so interesting. We haven’t actually examined any of it, just waiting to be examined.”

But now she is starting to discover a different world.

“I’m in cloud nine,” said Jackson. “I can’t believe I have this opportunity. I am very excited to start playing professionally with Team Secret. It’s like a dream come true.”

Fortnite season 8 is just a few weeks away, here’s what you should know about it

In a few recent leaks, it seems we can get an Egyptian theme for the next season, and one leak will spot the mummy skin, pyramids, cubes, and the crash site.

Perhaps the aliens could do some damage to the world, causing adventurers to go back in time or the entire universe collapsing into something completely unnatural.

This could mean brand new weapons, stories and skins for the future of the game. The possibilities are truly endless. Either way, we’ll just have to wait to see what Epic has for us next.
