Sometimes a challenge appears in Fortnite that is bugged and cannot be completed. Earlier this season, a rare quest appeared, urging players to destroy “bushes”, but at first it didn’t seem to work. But after Update 15.20, players can now cut bushes to earn some Fortnite XP.

Best Controller settings for Fortnite Season 8
If you want to take your game to the next level, you’ll need to make sure you have the best controller settings for the Fortnite season 8.
To be at the top of your game, you need the best Fortnite settings. The default Fortnite settings start players with and won’t cut it. To maximize performance, you need to optimize each setting.
The very approach to the Fortnite & settings menu can be daunting. There are many options to choose from which can be confusing. But we’re here to show you the best controller settings for the Fortnite season 8.
Make a Fortnite bush costume with this DIY! This is one of the coolest Fortnite costumes because it is unique and easy to make with a few materials.
Fortnite Bush Costume DIY
- Chicken wire
- Pliers
- Artificial tree, artificial garlands and greenery or real creepers, leaves or branches from the tree
- Optionally – shin guards, pads or cardboard
- Optionally – gloves
Making the bush costume frame
First, you’ll need to make a mesh frame to suit the person who will be wearing the Fortnite costume. Wearing gloves is completely optional, but I found that they protected my hands very well when cutting and bending the chicken wire.
Take a piece of chicken wire and carefully wrap it around the person who will be wearing the costume. Make sure you leave a gap wide enough for the person to move inside the wire.
Pick up the wire from the person and then cut along one edge of the wire. Twist the ends of the wire together to make a large tube of chicken wire.
Move the ends of the wire away from the inside of the wire frame so that they do not poke the person inside. If necessary, you can also trim the ends of the wire or cover it with Duck Tape so they are not sharp.
At the top of the frame, I took another piece of chicken wire and made a rounded top. I attached it to the rest of the frame by twisting the ends of the wire around the other chicken wire.
Place the person back in the bush costume frame to see where their arms are. Cut two large hand holes so that the person inside can stretch out their hands when needed. Re-spread the sharp edges, cover them with tape with a duckling, or cut them all together for comfort and safety for the person inside.
You can also line the entire interior of the wire frame if you want inexpensive felt or other thick fabric. Just be sure to leave the large rectangle open at eye level for the person inside to see!
The wire frame does NOT have to be perfect. As long as it fits the person and is comfortable and not sharp, it should be fine. Make sure the person inside has practiced standing up and then squatting (if planning to go into bush mode) to see if the frame is wide enough at the bottom.
I ended up making the frame wider at the bottom than the top because my son needed room for his bent knees as he fell like a bush. You will have to judge it for yourself depending on the height of the person inside.
When you add a lot of leaves to your frame, most of the imperfections will disappear under the leaves, so don’t worry too much about trying to make the perfect shape.
See what my crazy looks like now? In the end, it all ended well.
This is the most frustrating part of creating a Fortnite costume, I’m not going to lie. BUT, once you’ve made the frame, the rest is much easier!
Where to get the leaves
You will need a lot of leaves for this costume. I didn’t want to spend a fortune on fake leaves and garlands at the craft store as I knew I was going to need a LOT of leaves.
Instead, my genius husband went on Let Go (an app similar to Craig &’s list) and found someone who sells two large artificial trees for $ 20 each. They were perfect! One large tree would probably do the job.
You can also check the Craig & List, thrift stores, and garage sales for fake trees that you can buy cheaply to get all the greenery you need.
You can also use real leaves, which I almost did. It would be fine for a one-time Fortnite cosplay costume or a Fortnite costume for Halloween night. However, if you want to use the costume for more than one night, the leaves will wilt and you will have to do all the work more than once.
How to add the leaves
I plucked little twigs from the artificial tree and then weaved each twig into a chicken net. Luckily I didn’t have to use any wire or anything to attach the leaves which made this part easy and fun.
Each piece would climb onto the chicken mesh, then I reached through one of the armholes and weaved the stalk once or twice in the wire. If your stalks are thinner, you may have to weave them a few more times to keep it nice and safe.
I started at the top and made my leaves and branches stick out a little so it wasn’t impossible to tell the top of the wire underneath was not as wide as the bottom.
Just keep weaving these leaves and filling the gaps and you’ll have a bush full of leaves before you know it!
Have the person at some point walk into the costume and scoop some leaves around to make two holes so that the person inside can see and know where they are going.
Adding the final touches
In Fortnite, the bush has brown pads on its legs. I bought a pair of used mai tai washers for this and gave them several coats of brown spray paint. Here’s what they looked like before…
The shin guards would also work, as well as plain old cardboard cut into washer shapes. You can also skip this part together.
The Fortnite bush also carries a pickaxe, but my son disguised as a bush walking with a pickaxe didn’t seem like the best idea, so we skipped this part.

When my son and teenage daughter saw this, they both couldn’t wipe the smiles off their faces. They kept repeating how realistic it looked and how the costume looked like a bush in Fortnite, which I consider to be a total win!
This is a great Fortnite costume for kids, teens and adults for Halloween, cosplay or just for fun. My son wore it yesterday and virtually everyone who saw him smiled and commented on his Fortnite costume.
The cool thing about this costume is that even people who don’t know anything about Fortnite still consider it a cool costume because it is unique and probably never seen it before.
However, for someone who plays Fortnite, this bush costume is instantly recognizable.
