Destiny 2 transmog: Armor Synthesis cost, cap and upcoming changes to transmog in season 15

The Destiny 2 Transmog System is one of the most anticipated features to come to the game.

Transmog – short for “transmogrification” and also known by the community as “tmog” – is a term used in online games such as MMOs to change the appearance of an armor piece.

This idea was first introduced to Destiny 2 in 2019 with the arrival of the “Armor 2.0” remake with the Shadowkeep as Universal Cosmetics, allowing you to customize your look with only a few selected cosmetics.

Developer Bungie has fully implemented this feature along with the armor synthesis system within Season of Splicer, allowing you to fully customize your appearance. But in classic Destiny style, it’s not as easy as it sounds.

What is transmog in Destiny 2?

Armor Synthesis, the official name of the transmog system in Destiny 2, allows players to change the appearance of the equipped armor to a different one without sacrificing stats, perks, or other unique characteristics.

Unlike the previous universal ornament system, which allowed you to change armor only to choose a cosmetic look from Eververse and Events, this allows you to adopt the appearance of any armor you collect.

For example, you have a Raid armor set that you really like to use for your stats. But there’s a Trials kit that you prefer to look like, the armor synthesis system allows you to keep Raid armor in the inventory, but makes it look like a Trials kit.

Devouring is the first skill you unlock in this tree related to your melee attack. You activate the ability, if it has a charge, and kill an enemy with the mentioned hand-to-hand combat. Later, you will unlock the additional ability to consume a grenade charge to activate Devour.

A faster, but more demanding way to get Bright Dust is by completing Seasonal Challenges. These challenges last until the end of the Destiny 2 season and can reward players between 70 and 300 with bright dust for each challenge.

Destiny 2 – How To Get Rare Black Armory Bounty For Izanagi’s Burden

Purpose 2

Destiny 2 is now playable on major platforms such as PS4, Xbox, and PC first-person online multiplayer has been around since 2017 and was created by publisher Activision and developer Bungie.

The latest expansion in the game is the Annual Pass, which includes three DLCs, the first being the ongoing Black Armory event, which has brought a lot of new weapons, new armor, new locations, and a few quests for the Guardians.

How To Get Rare Black Armory Bounty For Izanagi’s Burden In Destiny 2

The Noibe Lab challenge proved too confusing and difficult for the community, so the developers at Bungie finally stepped in and opened the ultimate forge, The Bergusia Forge, to all players.

Now players can set fire to and harden Bergusia’s Forge and unlock the Mysterious Box that players have been grinding for weeks doing this also opens the way to the Izanagi Sniper Rifle but the problem with unlocking is that it requires a Rare Black Bounty.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to get the Rare Black Armory Bounty so you can continue the unlocking process.

Rare Black Armory Bounty Details

If you’ve obtained the last form of the Black Armory Key and unlocked the Mystery Box, you are well on your way to getting the Exotic Sniper Rifle The Burden of Izanagi.

But one of the requirements to unlock the Izanagi sniper rifle is to obtain the Obsidian Crystal and to do so you will have to complete a rare bounty in the black armory if you have completed rare black bounties, congratulations on successfully completing one of the most arduous tasks.

But if you are one of the few players who does not have a reward for a rare black armory, pray to the RNG gods to bless you as it will be a frustrating grinding.

Method To Get The Rare Black Armory Bounty Quickly

As Ada-1 does not offer any rare bounties in the Black Armory, you will need to get them from the various grinding modes below, you will find a method that will increase your chances of getting a reward.

First complete the daily and weekly black armor bounties that can be picked up from Ada-1 the only problem is that the drops are completely random so you may need to grind a lot of them.

Once you get at least 6-10 Black Armory Bounties, quickly pick them up all one by one this will increase the chance of dropping a Rare Bounty This worked for many players but still not a guaranteed method of work.

A single template costs 300 silver, and a set of templates costs 1000 silver. By comparison, the 500 Silver costs £ 4.79 in the UK. To avoid wrong purchases, confirmed templates can be applied to any class.

Sort Your Vault Out

I know we’re all begging Bungie to increase the vault size, but let’s continue assuming we’re stuck with 500 slots. Before the Witch Queen falls, I urge everyone to go into their vault and start cleaning weapons, exotics, and pieces of armor you no longer need. Of course, what you want to keep is different for everyone, but here are a few things I suggest you stick with as we get closer to February 22:

  • One Void, Arc and Solar variant for each weapon type for grandmaster actions, mods and legendary lost sectors.
  • Any armor with a high stat distribution for potential future builds.
  • One of all exotic items, with possible duplicate armor if they have solid base stats.
  • Any extra supplies or items that clog your consumables inventory.

Additionally, I like having PVP and PVE gods of my favorite weapons so that I can have duplicates of several different weapons. This is because Bungie is always changing Destiny 2’s sandbox, meaning the meta is constantly changing.

Again: what you choose to keep will vary from person to person as we all have favorites. For example, I like having a collection of god-roll hand cannons. Even though I rarely use many of them, I enjoy getting the best versions of each. As long as you have the items listed above, the rest of your treasury is entirely up to you and what you think will be needed.

Get The Right Exotics and Catalysts

On entering the Witch Queen, there are a few exotics you’ll definitely want to get your hands on before the addition drops off. This is not only because they will most likely be a metabron, but also because they can be extremely useful in a new raid.

Again, you don’t need everything on this list, but it’s strongly recommended that you get as much as possible before the expansion arrives. Since many of them are multi-step tasks that require only guides, I will provide links to those that cannot be explained in a single sentence.

  • Crossbowman + Catalyst: Initially only available during the Feast event, you can now obtain a Crossbowman from any Exotic Engram that falls to the ground or is rewarded by a merchant. As for the Catalyst, it has a very low drop rate, but is a possible reward at the end of Strike, Crucible, or Gambit matches.
  • Divinity
  • Gjallarhorn + Catalyst
  • Sleeper Simulant + Catalyst: To get the Sleeper Simulant, you need to go to the Tower and go to the Monument to Lost Lights kiosk by the vaults. Choose Red War, then buy a sleep simulator for 1 Exotic Cipher, 125,000 Glimmer, 200 Baryony Branches and one Ascendant Shard. You can get the catalyst as a random loot from the last chest of Nightfall: The Ordeal.
  • Izanagi’s Burden + Catalyst: Like the Sleep Simulator, Izanagi’s Burden can be purchased from the Lost Light Monument in the Tower. This will cost you 1 Exotic Cipher, 150,000 Flicker, 200 Twirling Leaves and 1 Ascendant Shard. The catalyst is a random drop from playlist activities such as Strikes, Nightfall, Gambit, or Crucible.
  • Witherhoard: No wonder this is another exotic you can buy from Monument to Lost Lights. This costs 1 Exotic Cipher, 100,000 Glimmer, 150 Star Glacier, and 1 Ascension Shard.

Each Merchant (Zavala, Shaxx, and the Vagabond) has repeatable bounties that offer a small amount of XP and 10 Bright Dust. This is a negligible amount of Bright Dust, but you can take part in these bounties an infinite number of times.

The Best Way to Complete the Destiny 2 Void Feast Bounty

Lost Sectors are your best friend for completing this and almost any other quest that requires you to get a certain number of kills in a certain way. Your best bets are:

  • Kingship Dock in Thieves Landing on the Tangled Shore
  • Artifact’s Edge Planetarium on Nessus
  • Core Terminus at Braytech Futurescape on Mars
  • Any Trostland Lost Sector in EDZ

The Escalation Protocol is also a great option, although farming the enemies you need may be a bit more difficult if you are competing for kills with other players and the risk of dying is much higher.

Best Void Feast Farming Loadout

The following bundle is ideal for completing The Void Feast quest:

  • Use the Exotic Monte Carlo Car Rifle and the Exotic Claws of the terrible Ahamkara gloves. Monte Carlo kills restore your hand-to-hand combat ability. Claws give you two melee charges before you need to cooldown.

If you don’t have one or neither of these Exotics, the following strategy applies:

  • Maximize your Strength stat as it determines how fast you replenish in melee combat.
  • Use the Nezarec’s Sin exotic, which reduces skill cooldowns for each Void kill, weapon or skill.
  • If you just want to always have a melee charge, head to the EMS or Nessus and navigate between public event flags, recharging while you’re out. It’s not necessarily efficient, but if load times are short, it can be faster than waiting for melee cooldowns.

No matter how you go about it, as long as you can get 10 melee kills by activating Devour without dying twice, you’ll complete this contract in no time.

But if you are one of the few players who does not have a reward for a rare black armory, pray to the RNG gods to bless you as it will be a frustrating grinding.

Destiny 2: Loot stats and tiers

Purpose 2.

source: Bungie

As you unlock new weapons and armor, you’ll notice that in addition to random perks, they will also have random stats. Here’s a breakdown of what each stat means for weapons:

  • Impact: Damage dealt by weapons.
  • Range: How far can you shoot the target before damage goes down.
  • Stability: How stable the weapon is when squeezing the trigger.
  • Handling: How quickly you can switch weapons or put them down.
  • Reload Speed: That explains itself, doesn’t it?

Here are the different armor stats:

  • Resilience: How much damage resistance your armor provides.
  • Regeneration: How quickly you recover from damage.
  • Mobility: jump height and walking speed (sprint speed is universal).
  • Intellect: How fast your Super charges up.
  • Discipline: How fast your grenade recharges.
  • Strength: How quickly your melee cooldowns recharge.

Purpose 2

source: Bungie

In addition to the statistics of weapons and pieces of armor, you should also pay attention to their rarity level, which is determined by color. There are five, but the Common and Uncommon variants (white and green) are virtually non-existent in Destiny 2 for 2020. So we’ll cover three important ones:

  • Rare (Blue): This is the worst equipment level you will come across. They tend to fall off a lot, so they’re great for boosting your power level. However, you should look for Legendary items as rare weapons have fewer perks and rare armor have fewer modification slots.
  • Legendary (Violet): Legendary gear will be your bread and butter in Destiny 2’s endgame as it offers more add-ons / mod slots and better overall stats compared to rare gear.
  • Exotic (Gold): Exotic gear is the rarest type in Destiny. Exotic pieces of equipment typically change the way the Ranger interacts with his enemies and the world with a unique perk. You can only equip one Exotic weapon and one Exotic armor piece at a time.

Drops Powerful Gear and Pinnacle Gear will never be rare. They will always be Legendary or, in very rare cases, Exotic. If you see a golden engram while playing, be sure to catch it as it is a lucky exotic drop.

Destiny 2: Important vendors and services

Purpose 2

source: Windows Central Lord Shaxx in the Tower.

While Destiny 2 has tons of different vendors and NPCs to talk to, some are more important than others. While I recommend talking to all of them while you play the game, the ones I will list here are the ones you’ll want to prioritize as a new player.

  • Zavala: Vanguard vendor, provides Vanguard bounties and assault assignments. It also gives you Avant-garde-themed gear in exchange for Avant-garde Tokens, which you earn while playing Blows. Gives you powerful gear after completing 8 jobs a week.
  • Lord Shaxx: Crucible Merchant, provides Crucible bounties and quests. It also gives you Crucible-style equipment in exchange for Crucible tokens that you earn while playing the Crucible. Gives you powerful gear after completing 8 jobs a week.
  • Drifter Merchant: Gambit provides Gambit and Gambit Prime bounties and quests. Gives you powerful gear after completing 8 jobs a week.
  • Banshee-44: Weapon / Armor mod merchant, provides gunsmith jobs, weapon quests, and mods. Gives you powerful gear after completing 8 jobs a week.
  • Xur: sells exotic weapons and armor on weekends. He also sells a special engram that guarantees you’ll get exotic gear that you don’t have yet.
  • Postmaster: This dealer is a place where gear that you have no room for or forget to pick up from the ground when it falls goes to. Check this often because if the postmaster fills up, items you forget to pick up will simply be removed, not sent to the courier.
  • Exo Stranger: Owners of the Beyond Light expansion will need to work with Exo Stranger frequently to get and upgrade their Stasis subclass.
  • Ada-1: Talk to Ada-1 to use Armor Synthesis, which allows you to turn any armor pieces in the Collections tab into a universal armor ornament using Synthweave, the currency you get from Ada-1 for killing enemies and refilling your bounty. Ada-1 also sells valuable Charged with Light and Warmind Cell mods that allow players to create deep and unique builds (their inventory changes daily).
  • Quests Kiosk: If you ever abandon one of your Quests and want to reactivate them, you’ll find them here. Also here, current players will be able to access the new tutorial quest that has appeared in Beyond Light.
  • Monument To Lost Lights Kiosk: This kiosk is where players can acquire exotic items and other special weapons only from content that has been placed in the Destiny Content Vault (when Bungie removes old content to reduce game installation size). However, this will cost you a fair amount of in-game currency for these items as they required the completion of difficult quests and missions and, as a result, are highly prized.

All of these vendors can be found in the center of the Tower, although Xur also has the chance to spawn elsewhere in the game. Keep an eye out for this weekend tracking site to find out where it is every week.

Purpose 2

Now players can set fire to and harden Bergusia’s Forge and unlock the Mysterious Box that players have been grinding for weeks doing this also opens the way to the Izanagi Sniper Rifle but the problem with unlocking is that it requires a Rare Black Bounty.

Destiny 2 Bright Dust from Vendor Challenges

Completing Dealer Challenges to earn Bright Dust in Destiny 2 is a more time-consuming task. Additionally, these challenges can only be completed once a week. However, they’re still a reliable way to get a decent amount of Bright Dust.

Players will need to visit Zavala, Shaxx, and the Vagabond for each of their weekly challenges. These challenges require players to complete 8 bounties in their activity. Each challenge level will reward player 120 with bright dust.

As there are three levels in each challenge, players can earn 360 Bright Dust per Merchant per week. Completing all nine challenge levels will reward 1080 players with bright dust.

supplier nature challenges

Destiny 2 Bright Dust from Repeatable Bounties

This is by far the worst but most reliable method of obtaining light dust. And since you’ll be completing bounties for the weekly Seller Challenges, you might as well get a small amount of Bright Dust at the same time.

Each vendor (Zavala, Shaxx, and the Vagabond) has recurring bounties that offer a small amount of XP and 10 Bright Dust. This is a negligible amount of Bright Dust, but you can take part in these bounties an infinite number of times.

Completing bounties will also increase your rank with that supplier and contribute to your progress in the Season Pass. So, while this method of getting Bright Dust in Destiny 2 is a major challenge, it also helps players develop many of the game’s factors.

shaxx rewards

For now, that’s every way you can get Bright Dust in Destiny 2. So get going and sanding your shiny new pants.
